China’s Collapse Will Be Worse Than Soviet Union, Xinhua Says -- Zachary Keck, The Diplomat

Russell Leigh Moses notes at China Real Time that a recent Xinhua News Agency headline, “The consequences of China’s collapse will be even worse than the Soviet Union’s,” has sparked a strong debate on Chinese social media sites. According to Moses, Xinhua warns that China could face misery and poverty because of “the destabilizing activity of its growing population of microbloggers.” In January Gao Yu at Seeing Red in China published a leaked speech Xi Jinping apparently gave to Party members in which he attributed the Soviet Union’s collapse to the lack of ideological conviction on the part of its Communist leaders. Chinese leaders have long debated the causes of the Soviet Union’s collapse.

My Comment: I saw first hand on how devastating the collapse of the Soviet Union was on it's citizens (my nationality is Russian). Mass unemployment coupled with a currency collapse, inflation, bartering as a means to do business, corruption and crime sky-rocketing, racial and sectarian conflicts breaking out .... followed by states declaring independence thereby creating more chaos and instability. It was not the best place or time to be.
Being someone who has also lived in China .... I can say the same thing about that country. It's breakup will be just as bad as the former Soviet Union .... but with hundreds of millions in more citizens .... and a long history of sectarian animosities and violence .... I can only imagine the devastation that such chaos can bring on such a populated country. In short .... many went hungry when the Soviet Union broke up .... but in China .... it's collapse would result in mass famine.

Almost unthinkable yet very predictable. The great march was not that long ago. Unlike Russia they have a solution. They take over Africa and export Chinese efficiency. Once they have wiped out the wildlife they might decide to remove the Africans. They might like very much to have a New China.
