President Obama Appoints The Man Who Lied To Congress On The NSA Surveillance Program To Be The Man Now Responsible For Reviewing It

James Clapper, Director Of National Intelligence Who Misled Congress, To Establish Surveillance Review Group -- The Huffington Post

President Barack Obama on Monday announced that Director of National Intelligence James Clapper will establish a review group designed to assess the nation's intelligence gathering and surveillance capabilities.

Obama announced the creation of an "independent group" of "outside experts" to review privacy issues raised by the nation's surveillance programs during a Friday press conference. My Comment: I am completely flabbergasted that the man who established the NSA`s surveillance program and who lied to Congress about it .... is the man who is now going to head the review of these programs. Unbelievable.

Update #1: No surprise here .... the White House is now in damage control .... but the bottom line has not changed .... the people who will conduct the review the NSA will still be answerable to James Clapper at the end.

Update #2: Why does this not surprise me .... Poll: Only 11 percent believe Obama’s NSA promises.

As usual, the administration will stonewall & plow their way through to the next election, knowing that the press, even though it is showing some cracks, will nevertheless still have their backs.
