Embattled Ukraine today announced it was bringing back conscription as a mob of some 300 pro-Russian militants seized control of the prosecutor's office in Donetsk after overrunning police.
Several of the 100 police officers guarding the building were injured and in some cases severely beaten as the crowd hurled rocks, threw Molotov cocktails and stripped them of their weapons and shields.
Rebels quickly took control of the building after mounting a second assault from the back, hoisting the Russian flag, barricading the front door and burning Ukrainian symbols in the street.
The outnumbered police injured some rebels as they responded with stun grenades, tear gas and rubber bullets, but were quickly overpowered.

Is this bad or wil this crisis be resolved now that Putin wants both sides to have a dialogue? How is the situration there i have heard that it is very close to a civil war, is that right or is a diplomatic solution being reached? You have family and friends in Ukraine what are they saying? Sorry if this is a lot of questions, i wish your family and friends there good luck and hope for the best. Thank you for covering this crisis and all the other war news. Friendly regards from Norway.

Putin is right about the need for a dialogue .... but no one is going to listen to him. I have said it before but the first strikes that led to the collapse of the Soviet Union first originated in this region. If the people in Donetsk did not listen to Moscow during the times of the Soviet Union .... they are not going to listen to them today.
Is a civil war going to break out .... I hope not. But the central government in Kiev and what authority it had in the eastern part of the country is now clearly gone. They do not control the situation .... and I do not see them being able to control it unless they send in the military to attack these separatists strongholds. If they do that .... the violence it will bring will resemble a civil war .... and the Russian military will probably intervene right after that.
How wil this conscription work, wil they recruit people from eastern Ukraine or just from the unocupied cities. But one thing that is more problematic is the radical nasinalists are there many of them or is it Russian propaganda? I read mostly from western media and this blog but i am altso reading from russia today. Are they a "safe" sourch for ecsample i read that the Ukraine is beginning to mobilizate far right activists in Dniprovorsk. And Russias foregn ministry is conserned that the Kiev gobermment wil send in right sector people to retake east Ukraine. Are there still Ukrainien troops surrounding Slavjansk? How is it in Kharkiv wonder if that city wil be sized by seperatists? I think that if the sepetatist keep going the cities ocupied wil be Russian when they hold the referidums. And thank you for answering my previous questions and for covering this crisis.
Talking has not changed anything, since Putin says one and then turns around and does the opposite. He is a liar, and an AMORAL person.

I hope this conflict dosent futher escalete its shooting in Slavjansk the military is going in cross you fingers for minimal death.
