Poll: Americans Overwhelmingly Support Drone Strikes

Politico: Poll: Americans overwhelmingly support drone strikes

The American public overwhelmingly supports drone strikes that target extremists in countries like Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, a new poll from Pew found.

Fifty-eight percent of respondents expressed approval of U.S. drone strikes, while only 35 percent disapproved. This included nearly three-fourths of Republicans, slightly more than half of Democrats and 56 percent of independents.

Only 48 percent of respondents said they were “very” concerned that drone strikes could endanger innocent civilians — another 32 percent said they were somewhat concerned, while nearly 20 percent said they were “not too” or “not at all” concerned about the prospect.

At some point in war, you've got
to take ground as well as kill the
enemy. Drones haven't taken an
inch of ground that I can see.
