Hillary Clinton Comments On The Brexit Vote

WSJ: After ‘Brexit’ Vote, Hillary Clinton Reaffirms U.S. Ties to Britain, Europe

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said in a statement Friday that she respects the U.K.’s vote to leave the EU and that the first task for the U.S. must be to assure that the resulting economic uncertainty does not hurt Americans.

She also reaffirmed this country’s “steadfast commitment” to its “special relationship” with both Britain and Europe.

The former secretary of state also subtly pushed back against suggestions that underlying hostility to immigration in Britain foreshadows victory for her opponent, Republican Donald Trump, who has put opposition to illegal, and some legal, immigration at the center of his campaign.

Rather, she said, the vote showed the need for the sort of leadership she would bring.

WNU Editor: There is a lot of news on Donald Trump and the Brexit vote .... but there is little if any news from the mainstream media on Hillary Clinton's reaction to the Brexit vote. Hmmmm .... I give Hillary Clinton credit on this .... she knows when to lie low, and the media knows when to accommodate her.
