CNN: Top general: U.S. strategy against ISIS in Libya makes no sense

Washington (CNN)In remarkably blunt testimony, President Barack Obama's nominee to command U.S. forces in Africa said Tuesday that more ground troops were needed in Libya to fight ISIS and agreed the current strategy of not bombing the terror group's affiliate there "makes no sense."

When asked by the committee's chairman, Sen. John McCain, an Arizona Republican, whether the U.S. had a strategy for Libya, Marine Lt. Gen. Thomas Waldhauser said he didn't know about one.

"I am not aware of any overall grand strategy at this point," Waldhauser said at his confirmation hearing to become commander of the Africa Command.

WNU Editor: I have never understood U.S. strategy/policy towards Libya since the overthrow of former Libyan dictator Qaddafi .... and it looks like the new U.S. Africom commander does not understand it either.

He, a military man, doesn't understand the order to "mark time"?

You "mark time" and chances are you give the enemy the initiative.

But winning is not as important as Obama's legacy.

3 Governments, two elected, one appointed by the UN, 4 "armies", 1600 "unaligned"'militia's, so what's The Plan?

Ultimately, a person like Obama who was a community organizer/Politician does not have the experience or the qualifications to set policy. I know he has advisors but the all come from the political or brownnoser realm. Govt and Military Policy cannot be left in the hands of elected people that gain power and go crazy with that power and for the most part are not qualified to run anything larger than a McDonald's restaurant. These people are as dangerous as a chimp with a hand grenade.
