Al Jazeera: Saudi Arabia: Explosions near Medina and Qatif mosques

Suicide blast reported at Prophet's Mosque in Medina as witnesses say body parts of presumed bomber seen in Qatif.

Two people have been killed in an explosion outside the Prophet's Mosque in the Saudi Arabian city of Medina, sources told Al Jazeera.

Photos on social media show smoke billowing from a fire outside the mosque where Prophet Muhammad is buried.

Two other explosions struck near a mosque in the eastern city of Qatif on the Gulf coast on Monday evening, residents said.

Witnesses said a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a Shia mosque without causing any other injuries.
