Former Israeli President And Prime Minister Shimon Peres Has Been Hospitalized After Stroke



CNN: Israel's Shimon Peres hospitalized after stroke

Jerusalem (CNN)Former Israeli President and Prime Minister Shimon Peres has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke on Tuesday, his office said.

Peres, 93, was taken to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan outside Tel Aviv after suffering a "brain episode," the office of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said.

He has been sedated and intubated in order to "ease the continuation" of treatment, according to a statement from his office. He is scheduled to undergo a CT scan.

Tuesday's news is the latest health scare for the elder statesman.
