Taliban Claim Suicide Bombing Attack That Killed 36 At A Mosque In Pakistan



ABC News Online: Pakistan suicide bombing: Death toll rises to 36, including eight children

Eight children are among 36 people who were killed in a Taliban suicide bomb attack on a mosque in northwest tribal Pakistan, officials say.

The Friday (local time) attack targeted a mosque in the Mohmand tribal district bordering Afghanistan where the army has been fighting against Taliban militants.

"We have now compiled a list of victims of the blast, which includes 36 dead and 27 injured. At least eight children below the age of 10 years are among the dead," deputy chief of the Mohmand tribal district administration Naveed Akbar said.
