US News and World Report: U.S.-Russia Talks for Syria ‘On the Verge’ of Collapse

U.S. without a backup plan as civil war in Syria ramps up.

American attempts to broker an end to the intense suffering in Syria appears to have failed with Secretary of State John Kerry's acknowledgement Thursday that the U.S. is "on the verge" of suspending talks with Moscow, the chief backer of the Syrian regime.

"It's irrational in the context of the kind of bombing taking place to be sitting there trying to take things seriously," Kerry said at a forum in Washington, D.C., organized by Atlantic Media. "There's no notion or indication of seriousness of purpose with what's taking place right now."

Since the beginning of the situations in the Ukraine and Syria it has been quite evident that the Russians, whatever their shortcomings, simply have no one to talk to when it comes to the U.S., let alone most of its allies. They can carry on all they like about "partners", "understandings", "progress" in negotiations, but it all amounts to the same result. Broken deals, projection of bad intent or habits, mendaciousness, threats and shameless hysterics from the representatives of Exceptionalistan and friends.

Even in the world of international relations there are moments when the only thing to say is "f___ off". For the Russians vis a vis the U.S., this is just such a time.

Obama is one the down low.

Kerry is a metro-sexual.

Neither one has the will to power outside the Democrat Machine.
