Daily Mail: Very Un-popular: Kim Jong-un is too afraid to set foot in parts of North Korea because he fears being ASSASSINATED

* The dictator will only travel accompanied by a convoy of soldiers and military vehicles
* He has failed to visit areas of the country that have been affected by recent heavy flooding
* Kim Jong-un has also never set foot in the country's third-largest city

Kim Jong-un is said to be so afraid of being assassinated that he does not stray far from the country's capital of Pyongyang.

The North Korean leader reportedly limits his publicity visits to military bases, including missile and nuclear tests, as well as to farms and factories within a short distance of the capital, which have all been heavily vetted in advance.

The dictator will also only ever travel accompanied by a convoy of soldiers and military vehicles, according to NKNews.

WNU Editor: I am sure that his purges over the years has resulted in a great deal of fear and resentment within the government itself .... and assassinating him must be a temptation for some of some of them .... a fact that I am sure Kim Jong-un himself is well aware of.

I would think consistent purges of the leadership would tend to have a chilling effect on loyalty and would tend to increase the desire of others in positions of power to assassinate the one doing the purges. After all the thinking is I'm going to be next so I best assassinate this person before I'm "purged."
