Reuters: Obama to consider 'proportional' response to Russia hacking

U.S. President Barack Obama will consider a variety of responses to Russia's hacking of political party organizations and it is possible that any action may not be announced publicly, the White House said on Tuesday.

"There are a range of responses that are available to the president and he will consider a response that is proportional," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Air Force One. "It is certainly possible that the president can choose response options that we never announce," he said.

WNU Editor: Wikileaks has caused a great deal of embarrassment to many in the political establishment in Washington .... even though the focus from the media and from the Administration is that it is the Russians who are responsible for these disclosures. I personally do not know if Russia is involved, and the White House has yest to explain what is their evidence to say that this is so (aside from them telling us to trust them) .... but I do know that Wikileaks is the website that is disseminating this stuff, and I am grateful that they are.

As for President Obama's threat that the U.S. will retaliate against Russia .... there has been no response from the Kremlin so far  (it is almost midnight in Moscow right now), but I would not be surprised that they will issue a statement that basically says that they would retaliate likewise if the U.S. does conduct a hack attack of their own.

We are going down a very slippery slope right now .... and many are not paying attention right now.

How outrageous. The U.S. never meddles in other countries political processes or tries to manipulate regime changes. Never, we are the exceptional ones.

Anon. tag team.

Nothing fishy there.

Obama is a weak president in his last 100 days.

He was a Beta boy as the Choom gang leader and even though the DNC elevated him as a figure head, he is still a beta boy.

Russian and China never meddled with any countries either.

Their collective asses are more antiseptic than the bright side of the moon.

Obama will do nothing, as usual. But saying "we don't announce publicly" he can let people think he did something but cannot tell it.
