Update #2: Iran mulls Russian use of airbase for Syria strikes (The New Arab)

WNU Editor: Such a deployment will mean having Russian aircraft crossing Iraqi air space to strike targets in Syria .... airspace that is being heavily used by U.S. and coalition aircraft against the Islamic State in the Mosul campaign. Hmmmm .... I can see how this can go "south" really quick and fast.

Hamadan has already been used once by Russia, and Iraq has allowed Russian transit through Iraqi airspace.

It's no biggie, just more fearmongering.

True, they allow once and stop it quickly. I can be wrong but this new allowance could have an other signification. A Trump administration could be tempted to strike Iran, but with Russian troop inside the country this will make the problem a little bit more complex.

The 1975 Revolution resulted in an Iranian Constitutional Amendment, vaguely worded, that doesn't allow Foreign Military Bases in Iran.

It can be taken to mean "temporary", which causes Constitutional problems.
