President-Elect Trump's Meeting With Execs From The Main Stream Media Today Was A 'Disaster'

New York Post: Donald Trump’s media summit was a ‘f—ing firing squad’

Donald Trump scolded media big shots during an off-the-record Trump Tower sitdown on Monday, sources told The Post.

“It was like a f–ing firing squad,” one source said of the encounter.

“Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,’ ” the source said.

“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.

A second source confirmed the fireworks.

Update: Report: Trump meeting with media a ‘f---ing firing squad’ (The Hill)

WNU Editor: The Trump team is denying these reports .... Aide: Trump didn't 'explode in anger' during media meeting (The Hill). What's my take .... the media is not trusted or respected by many in today's America .... and after this election cycle .... doubly so. Did President-Elect Trump unload on the media .... I do not know. But I wish I was a fly in that room because my gut tells me that he did .... especially in view on how wrong they were in covering this election cycle, the obvious bias that many of them have against him, and the continuation of the same bias press coverage since the election. I know in my case when it comes to getting news on the incoming Trump administration .... the foreign media has become far more reliable and accurate in their reporting than what the U.S. main stream media is now "dishing out".

The lecture Trump gave the media fatbodies at his tower was likely very similar to the Al Smith Dinner speech he gave this year.

Stopped watch mainstream news along time ago, I noticed that the news from the Canadian networks and the US on TV and Radio was the same, the Canadian news feeds had a Canadian flavour but all the Canadian Networks were basically the same on each story, heavy Do-Gooder Liberal Social Engineering, still the same, I listen sometime to CBC radio bloody disgraceful. Like in the US the Canadian networks ignore the what the Canadians want, and pump the Neo-Liberal agenda. I think that it would be possible if they continue to ignore Canadians that we may elect our own version of Trump in the future, Europe seems to be going that route.

I remember the late eighties, early nineties, and the turn of this century. Historically, it has been the left that has campaigned against so-calledfree trade. For decades the right has defended it in the name of "competition" and "the free market".

I remember John Turner of the Liberal Party -when it still had a shred of respectability- telling Quisling Mulroney that he was selling Canada out with CUFTA, the predecessor of NAFTA. It was the right, with Reagan and Mulroney who brought us free trade. Not the left.

Now as, once again, a policy they trumpeted, bullied and bulldozed everyone else into has clearly failed (just like the NAZI one did), he right wants to throw it out. Before it can do this, however, it has to throw the responsibility for it on someone else. The usual patsy is the -admittedly weak, disorganized, compromised, opportunist- left.

So down the memory hole goes the historical truth of just who did what. It is undenktbar to insist that free trade, as we have come to know it, was a right wing project, inspired by the right, for the right.

Oceania has is at war with East Asia.

Oceania has always been at war with East Asia.

Insist that it was ever not the case and be prepared for the fascist goon squad on this and other forums to remind your person of the histrionic "facts". e.g. Bill "three strikes you're in", "Rambouillet? What the hay?" Clinton was/is a left winger -muchless Barak "kill Qaddafi, murder Libya, destroy Syria, drone strike and Care for the health insurance industry" Obama.

The "official left" in Canada and the U.S. is dead or on life support. It has been replaced by a bunch of opportunist, identity politic, imperailist "humanitarian" interventionist, pick a colour righties in drag revolutionISTS.

The MSM reflects this zeitgeist.

Today, the what passes for "mainstream" politics is the right globalist/neo-liberal versus the more right nationalist, nativist, irredendist, protofascist. We're expected to choose a side...or else.

Tomorrow, however, is another day; and it belongs to the kids. And they are restless.
Don't see colour.
And want healtg care, real paying meaningful work and a M-f'n education.
Or a lot of us will smoke for it.

So,

The Left is dead!

Long live the left!

And I don't believe for one second that the Trump gang will not be as imperialist as the gang Obama/Clinton had around her.

The MSM will fall "right" into line with/on all of it.

They always do.

And TWN,

We had our own version of Trump.

His name was Rob Ford.
