South China Morning Post: China will take ‘necessary measures’ in event of regime collapse in N Korea, says defence official

Defence spokesman Ren Guoqiang affirms military will safeguard security and sovereignty

Update: China Prepares For "Regime Collapse" In North Korea (Zero Hedge)

WNU Editor: China is denying these reports .... China denies increasing troops on North Korean border (Reuters), but North Korea is clearly worried .... North Korea 'tightens security at border to stop news of Kim Jong-nam's death spreading' (The Telegraph). What's my take .... this type of rhetoric between China and North Korea was unthinkable before North Korean leader Kim Jong-un took over from his father. Today .... it has become the new normal. In fact .... if China continues to publicly voice their preparedness for a collapse of the North Korean regime .... I would start to say that the Chinese are green-lighting their support for a coup against North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The next few weeks/months are going to be critical on what happens next.

I don't think anyone would be too disappointed if China were to just annex North Korea...I think even the South Koreans could live with it.
