DW: Female Bundeswehr soldiers abused and forced to pole-dance

A new report details the humiliation and harrassment at a southern German army base. New recruits had to strip down and go through cruel hazing rituals. Germany's defense minister has condemned the actions as repulsive.

The Staufer barracks in Pfullendorf, a small town in southern Germany, are a special operations training center for the Bundeswehr, Germany's army. But the gruesome events that have taken place there have absolutely nothing to do with regular soldier training.

A new report by the German defense ministry recounts the humiliating steps a female trainee had to go through as part of a sadistic "entrance exam." Nicole E. said she was forced by her superiors to pole-dance in the common room of the barracks. In addition to the pole, the likes of which are usually a staple in strip clubs and not Bundeswehr training centers, the lounge also had a bar stocked with hard liquor.

"Brugger: People who violate others' dignity like this should not be part of the Bundeswehr"

Perhaps people who have entered the armed forces and are prepared to lay down their lives in defense of their country but are unable to muster the ability to defend themselves, and or retaliate when timing is right, should give the military life a pass. I would think that they will face much more serious offenses in war.

Perhaps having never been in the military myself of course I don't know what I am talking about but I think the lessons of fragging might serve as some kind of inspiration.

One reason German units were so cohesive in WW2 was in part because their units often were recruited from the same towns.

Why wait for fragging? Bobbetize!

Okay I get it. In the spirit of comradery it is okay with some to molest fellow soldiers, male or female because that helps to bond people together for when they are on the firing line.

My post was about retaliation and in my opinion, if a soldier who doesn't want that kind of bonding, hasn't the ability to defend themselves, or retaliate when able, for their own protection and the protection of the person beside them, then they shouldn't be in the military.

Fragging was employed for a number of reasons but for certain was the ultimate retaliation. If you don't like it retaliate, and it doesn't have to be a death blow, or get out, but don't complain about it if you stay.

Would anyone that posts here welcome unwanted molestation for the purpose of bonding? You for instance Aizino?
