Bodza the German Shepherd started his career as a bomb sniffing K-9 in 2006. The energetic, goofy pup saved hundreds of US soldiers from IEDs in Iraq, Kyrgyzstan and Kuwait. Six years after his first tour Bodza met his new handler, Kyle Smith, and the two became fast friends.

Smith and Bozda spent 189 bitterly cold days and nights together as their friendship grew into a lifelong bond that couldn’t be broken.
