Canadians Remember The World War One Battle At Vimy Ridge





Toronto Star: Thousands to gather in France for 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge

Canadian government is hosting the ceremony, paying homage to the sacrifices and achievements of all those who participated in the 1917 battle where over 10,000 Canadians were killed or injured.

Officials, veterans and media from all over the world will gather in France Sunday for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

Up to 25,000 Canadians are expected at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, with millions more expected to watch from around the world.

My Grandfather, 2 Great-uncles and 1 cousin we theer, I wish I could say something patriotic about my familie's world war 1 experience, they all came back a mess, except my cousin he was vaporized at Passendale body never found, and when you throw in what happened to my family in the Halifax Explosion,Grandmother killed, Aunt killed, 2 cousins killed, my other Grandfather crippled, my mother and other Grandmother maimed along with others, and the loose of 2 houses, WW1 was not a fun time for my family.
