Daily Mail: China 'deploys 150,000 troops to deal with possible North Korean refugees over fears Trump may strike Kim Jong-un following missile attack on Syria'

* Trump's Syria strike Friday was widely interpreted as a warning to North Korea
* China, which was left shocked by the air strikes, has deployed medical and backup units from the People's Liberation Army forces to the Yalu River
* The troops have been dispatched to prepare for pre-emptive attacks by the US
* The US Navy has moved the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group from Singapore to North Korea after the country conducted more missile testing

The Chinese army has deployed 150,000 troops to the North Korean border to prepare for pre-emptive attacks after the United States dropped airstrikes on Syria.

President Donald Trump's missile strike on Syria on Friday was widely interpreted as a warning to North Korea.
And now China, left shocked by the air strikes, has deployed medical and backup units from the People's Liberation Army forces to the Yalu River, Korea's Chosun.com reported.

The troops have been dispatched to handle North Korean refugees and 'unforeseen circumstances', such as the prospect of preemptive attacks on North Korea, the news agency said.

Update: South Korean Paper Reports China Has Deployed 150,000 Troops To North Korea Border (Zero Hedge)

WNU Editor: Let's look at what has happened in just one week ....

Before last weeks Trump-Xi summit, reports were coming in on growing tensions along the China-North Korea border .... Evidence of strained ties on China-North Korea border (Reuters).

President Trump makes it clear at the beginning of April that the U.S. is ready to act alone on North Korea .... Trump Says US Ready to Act Alone on North Korea (April 2, 2017/VOA).

China then telegraphs to the world that they are worried on what is happening .... China worries that Trump is about to escalate tensions with North Korea to disastrous effect. They're right to worry (The Independent).

President Trump and Chinese President Xi have their summit, and as soon as Presdient Xi leaves the U.S. a US Navy aircraft carrier strike force is deployed to the Korean Peninsula .... U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group To Be Deployed Near The Korean Peninsula (April 8, 2017)

Chinese and South Korean officials meet today and agree to slap tighter sanctions on North Korea .... and as I said in my comment thread .... I have never seen the Chinese move this fast on North Korea .... China And South Korea Have Agreed To Slap Tougher Sanctions On North Korea.

South Korean officials are also making it known that they are deeply concerned on what is happening .... South Korea Is Nervous With The Latest Deployment Of A U.S. Carrier Strike Group Near The Korean Peninsula. More here .... US Strike Force Heading Towards N. Korea Causing Anxiety Among Friends, Foes (VOA).

And now this report of 150,000 Chinese soldiers on the North Korean border.

So what is my take. This is a collective show of force against North Korea and a clear signal to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that business as usual is no more. Will he listen .... I hope so .... but my gut is telling me no.

Kims bluff gonna be called

Good time for a h-bomb test Kim!

My bet is the u.s will shoot down the next test missile as soon as it hits international airspace.
Sends a clear message te capability without hitting kim directly.

Fazman,

How do you know Kim is "bluffing?" America has roughly 28,000 troops stationed there. While America and it's "allies" might well win should a hot military conflict ensue, it would be VERY, VERY costly and those American men and women currently stationed there are not going to survive much beyond the first few hours at best. Perhaps if those were Australian troops stationed there in those numbers you might not be so caviler about this.

Perhaps we need to go to war with North Korea. If so, we better be absolutely certain it is worth it and it truly is necessary. In such a war, I would be shocked if North Korean operatives already operating in America did not launch attacks on the US mainland. In any event, first responders will need to be prepared for mass casualties. Perhaps you are so caviler about all of this because Australia is likely not going to be touched. If you were an American and it was your head on the proverbial chopping block and your family at risk you might be a bit more circumspect about this.

Fazman,

The only "missiles" the US has been able to shoot down are those in tests where the parameters of the test are carefully calibrated to ensure "success." As such, it is unlikely the US could shoot down a North Korean missile and to try it would only reveal this. As such, I don't think US leadership will order such an attempt. But then again they were foolish enough to not only launch an attack on Syria.

I've already pointed out the folly of this elsewhere. As I've stated I do hope to be proven wrong.

Icbm maybe not, another scud variant they are more than capable.

You keep going on about my countries head not being on the chopping block.
I hope you recall aust in korea, vietnam, gulf, afghanistan, Iraq
I have friends who served in commando units and no douby aust will stand side by side with u.s brothers again if need be.
Remember the super computers in 91 that predicted 100.000 coalition dead?

Fazman,

I am aware of Australian assistance in the areas you mention. This American very much apprecistes your support and friendship. While the "brothers" remark is very much appreciated and I really think you meant it, after seeing America used, abused, and manipilated by so many I'm a bit cynical and prone to not trust the intenions of some.

No offense. Australia made/will make a token contribution. America will be expected to do the "heavy lifting." Never mind the fact we're deeply in debt, our infrastructure is pld and decaying, and our military is worn down and spread to thin.

If you're so eager for war with North Korea and/or Syria, have Aussies take the lead and do the heavy lifting. We Americans will make a token contribution. Then it'll be your head and the heads of your family members on the chopping block. It'll be Aussies who'll bear the brunt of any reprisal. When this hapoens, perhaps you'll be more circumspect about matters of war.

As for the 100,000 coalition dead in Gulf War I, everything that could go right for the coalition went right and everything that could go wrong for Iraqi forces pretty much went wrong. In effect, the coalition won the lottery. It'd br foolish for a person to bet their future on winning the lottery. Also, the US military is less powerful relative to adversaries and potential adversaries than it was in 1991.

If Australia wants to be a friend of America there are a couple of things they and their leaders could do. 1.) America is under de facto invasion along the southern border. Offer to stand with our border patrol agents as they defend our borders. As you have your own country to defend, no one expects you to do that but the gesture would be appreciated. 2.)While I'm hoping I missed sonething, the recent attack on Syria appears to have been a collosal blunder. Aussie leaders should/could provide a bsck channel to the Russians to help defuse the situation. When friends make poor choices, friends help each other. Who knows you might even have a big role in negotiating an end to Cold War II in the fashion that Reagan/Gorbachev did. Perhaps this time it could be Trump/Turnball/Putin negotiating the end to Cold War II.

This would be far more valuable than token contributions to places like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan or elsewhere. Besides Australia wouldn't have done these things for the good ole USA. As with all countries, they did these things out of national interssts or percieved national interests. Oh well doing the two things mentioned above would be a way Australia could show true friendship to America.

As stated, your friendship to America is very much appreciated. If I have offended you in any way, please understand I did not mean to.

Carnt find the article now but this is what Japan said, but China are denying that any troops of this 150 are there they say it's not true so don't no who to belive

Also now Japan says it will intervene if USA attack north Korea

B.Poster said...

There is something else friends of America can do for us. Pray for us.

I'm a bit skeptical of the 150,000 Chinese troop claim. While plausible, it seems unlikely. China and North Korea are allies. As such, I'd lean in the direction of assuming the claim is not true.

Not sure exactly how Japan plans on intervening here. Will need to check that out.

Japan Warns It Will Stop the U.S. from Attacking North Korea
By MONEY MORNING STAFF REPORTS, Money Morning • April 10, 2017

Japan warns
Flags on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson supercarrier at sea, Sept. 4, 2002.
We're closely watching international fallout from North Korea's unprecedented show of aggression of late; the country's had six missile-launch displays already in 2017.

The most recent launch of a medium-range ballistic missile on April 4 spurred U.S. Navy strike group Carl Vinson – a military supercarrier warship and its accompanying fleet – to shift toward the Western Pacific Ocean yesterday near the Korean Peninsula as "a show of force."

Now, Japan warns that it will intervene in any attacks made by the U.S. toward North Korea.

"If America says it is going to attack, both Japan and South Korea will probably put a stop to it," an unidentified Japanese defense minister told Reuters this morning (April 10).

But according to the global nonpartisan economic website EconoTimes today, there is a rumor that the United States is actually considering "bombarding North Korea's nuclear facilities."

Here's the one big reason why Japan and South Korea want to stop the United States from getting involved…

Japan Warns U.S. to Protect Itself

Should the rumors of a U.S. attack on North Korea materialize, Japan and South Korea would be the first victims of Pyongyang's counterattack.

That's simply because both countries are U.S. allies as well as North Korea's direct geographical neighbors.

Damn mu ph crashed so l wont rewrite my lengthy reply but the word token is not one that comes to mind ( as u.s commanders often comment on our commandos and sas performance in iraq, afghanistan.and vietnam as being beyond reproach .
As a culture l find many aussies are nore patriotic to the usa than many americans.
The lid needs to put on thr genies bottle sooner rather than later as later will carry a much higher price.
B.poster please dont over estimate NK strength , they have no airpower, there pilots have virtually zero flying hours, they have no credible submarine force ( relative to u.s) their artillery and rocket whilst deadly will be silenced in the opening days by the 100% complete air superiority that the u.s and sth koreans will enjoy from day 1.
Yes they have a stupendous volume of manpower, but so did saddam.

And yes if kim gets a icbm the entire region will be intimidated and held to ransom incl aust which is well within range.
Stratedgic patience policy ( double speak for l will leave this for the next administration to deal with)has failed, then surley you must agree that a time eventually comes where all cards are called?
