Iran Posts New Video Footage Of Its F-313 'Stealth Fighter'

FOX News: Photos of Iran's new Qaher F-313 fighter jet prototype emerges

New photos emerged Saturday of a new prototype of Iran's stealth fighter jet, previous models of which were mocked by aviation experts who predicted it "would never fly."

The updated version of Qaher F-313 stealth fighter jet was unveiled during an exhibition for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, The Aviationist editor David Cenciotti reported. The exhibition showcased the achievements made by Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan within the last two years.

The prototype had the same shape as its 2013 predecessor but featured multiple changes, including a bigger cockpit, non-plexiglass canopy, dual exhaust nozzles, dorsal antenna and FLIR (Forward Looking Infra-Red) turret installed to the nose of the fighter jet.

While the first "model" was just a model,

This one is larger, has engines, nozzels, landing gear, a real canopy and functioning control services, enough to do taxi tests.

That's a lot of rial's, time and engineering to spend on something that's not a real project.

Not really. As long as its not flying.

A couple of million on a fibreglass mock up is a cheap price to pay to have the u.s trying to factor iranian stealth into their considerations.
But yeah yourr right jay it may well be a work in progress.

The US started with scale models to test stealth shaping and aerodynamics,

Some say that if it flies, it won't fly well, ( wing thickness and "weird"winglets, or be that stealthy, ( engine intakes),

but this is in comparison to "unstable" aircraft that rely on computers to stay airborne,

and of course, it's the same pundit's who said the IRAF wouldn't be able to keep the F-14's, F-4's and F-5's flying, and that the Iranian's could never reverse engineer an F-5 and domestically manufacture it.
