What's the deal with Putin and Britain? Why does he like doing that so much?

Oh jay why do you take things on its surface all the time? I even lived there, so please stfu
My question is around this: why the increase in activity, or am I wrong and that's a normal amount of ships passing by? Just feels like Putin is teasing Britain for the last few years.
Again, thank you Jay for another useless comment. Please add more of your links and lmfaos.

Between 1991 and 2004, the Russian Navy mostly sat at the dock and rusted away.

Between 2004 and 2008, they had refit some ships, built a few new ones and were conducting "training" cruises in the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, and sometimes even the Med.

Now they have a small, modernized fleet, and gor the Baltic Fleet and the Archangle Fleet, the only way into the Atlantic is through the International Shipping Lanes around Britain.

The Soviet Navy had 1053 ships,

The Russian Navy has 271.
