Former FBI Director James Comey Furious On How He Was Fired

ABC News: Comey furious at lack of respect White House showed, sources say

Former FBI Director James Comey was furious at the lack of respect the White House showed him in the way he was fired, sources have told ABC News.

Associates say he is simmering at some of the comments directed at him by White House staffers, who have used words like "atrocities" to describe his actions as director.

One person close to the former director said that President Trump calling Comey a "showboat" and suggesting he is not "competent" has required Comey to show considerable restraint.

"Look, he's a showboat. He's a grandstander," Trump said about Comey in an interview with NBC's Lester Holt on Thursday. "The FBI has been in turmoil. You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that."

WNU Editor: A few days before his firing the former FBI Director was boasting that he was going to be around for the next 6 years (see above video). Someone should have quoted him the following proverb .... pride comes before a fall.

As a rule .... most people in power eventually fall .... and most of the time they are never happy that it happened.

I am furious at his handling of the Hillary investigation.

So any fury of his will be met by silence or fury right back.

I can see where public speaking might be hard for Comey. Just imagine people continually throwing up yellow flags when he speaks.

I think Comey caught a clear case of hubris during his tenure as FBI Dir.

His mom probably let him play Milton Bradley's _Operation_ instead of working on his needlepoint sampler. Engendered a false sense of mastery and control--quite the opposite of "Pride Goeth Before a Fall."

Even if he didn't read and study the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull himself, it's evident he's an example of someone subject to the "Seagull Effect"--our Postwar malady.

He was, perhaps, already mentally pre-conditioned to
"bend the rules" as circumstances seemed to demand.
"Do your own thing, Man."

A fine hobby (after chores) like needlework, transistor radio building, decoy-painting, or whittling will build a better man than a lot of fancy thinking. And that's been true for tens of thousands of years.

In today's world someone always wants to gild the lilly and sell it back to you. But old ways are best.

Maybe I'm projecting.

I never finished my own sampler, which if I'm remembering correctly was to say "Brevity is the Soul of Wit."

Interesting point Unknown. James Comey is my age .... and we were educated to do our "own thing" .... albeit I was regarded as a trouble maker by my parents and peers while growing up in the old former Soviet Union.

Don't feel so bad Unknown. I try but I am always breaking that rule.
