North Korea Does Not Need Nuclear Weapons To Unleash Massive Damage

ABC News Online: How much damage could North Korea unleash even without nuclear weapons?

There's been a lot of focus on North Korea's nuclear ambitions, and specifically, its hopes of developing a missile that could deliver a nuclear strike on the United States.

But what can be lost in the discussion of the country's recent missile tests is the vast military capabilities the country already has.

This morning, US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said any military solution to the North Korea crisis would be "tragic on an unbelievable scale".

This is why a diplomatic solution is widely seen as the only solution.

WNU Editor: One can also say that the damage that will be inflicted on North Korea would be just as bad .... if not worse.

As horrible as it is this kind of thinking remind me 1938. We give up to Hitler because for the same reason...and we still had a war which was more horrible than if we did it earlier. Democracy is the best system, but it is always weak against dictators only through fear. Yes a war with North Korea will be devastating but it will be also the best lesson for all the dictators who want to have their way no matter what.If we back down what will be next for North Korea and for Iran or China?
