"So what happens now? Under any other administration the Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security, working in conjunction with DC’s Metropolitan Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security would be working to positively identify the members of Erdogan’s security detail involved. They would then be declared persona non grata and barred from reentry into the United States. What will actually happen given the current administration I have no idea."

Trump's a youuge Ergodan fan, so probably nothing's going to happen until Ergodan's Goons kill a couple of Americans.

Is he a huge fan though?

Not heard/read anything to suggest he is; hosting him at the White House can hardly be seen as being a huuuge fan...

As Ergodan went from "the guy" who was going to "Westernize" Turkey and bring it into the EU, to full on cray-cray Islamic Sultan, the US Administrations drew back from him.

Trump on the other hand was the first to congratulate him on the phoney referendum, while other Western Leaders questioned the validity of the referendum.

Amongst Western Governments, Egodan only got congrats from Trump and Hungary's Orban.

Hmmm... Yeah, that is very telling indeed.

I had no idea that previous US Administrations or governments were s "lily white." I tnought previous US Administrations routinely looked the other way when "allies" did bad things.

This has caused enormous problems. Some call it "blow back." By doing nothing publically here team Trump does not seem to behaving any differently thwn previous presidential administrations have. If nothing is done here, there will be "blow back" for this as well.

As for why nothing is likely to be done here, at least in the short term, is likely best summed up by the editor in his post where he pointed out the meeting between Erdogan and Trump. Both sides need each other. Since the US needs Turkish cooperation more than Turkey needs to cooperate with it, the options that DJT and the US government have at their disposal are very limited.

Nevertheless the Turks may have over reached here. Everything in America is under surveillance. If the Turkish goons were paying attention, they'd have known this. Rest assured, in time, there will be "blow back" against Turkey for this.

At 0:01-0:05 you san see OD green shirt with Khaki pants beating on protestor and then DC police using his ASP baton on the attacker. Right at 0:05 you can see that OD Khaki is armed with a concealed sidearm and you can also see another in the same dress wear who is also armed and attacking protestors. These guys are also PSD for Erdogan.
