Military.com/Stars and Stripes: US Special Ops General Sees Decades-Long Struggle in Africa

The U.S. military faces a two-decade struggle to help bring stability to Africa, where the lack of an overall government strategy is complicating operations, according to the general in charge of special operations on the continent.

"[T]here are too many conflicting perspectives when it comes to what the [U.S. government] policy should be for Africa," U.S. Special Operations Command Africa's Brig. Gen. Donald Bolduc said in a recent article. "The problems in Africa defy solution within a single fiscal year, or the two- to four-year tour of a Geographic Combatant Command commander."

Bolduc, writing in the Sunday issue of the online Small Wars Journal in an essay titled "The Gray Zone in Africa," said it will take "at least a generation for a policy to become effective."

WNU Editor: Sadly .... this assessment is probably accurate. This blog covers wars and conflicts .... and even I have lost count on all of the wars and conflicts that are now being waged in Africa.

Update: The above map does not include contractors, the CIA, etc..

Obama left us a mess.

He could not do one thing right.

Did he brig back out girls?

Hell NO!. But that MoFo had one Hell of a hashtag campaign. Eventually, he also put a few hindered troops in Nigeria to help.

Could Obama defeat the Lord's Resistance army? Heck No!

All he had to do was catch the leader. The Pakistanis were not hiding him too, so it should have been easy.

Catch the leader. Dispatch the leader messily and give the lieutenants a one time good deal to surrender.

correction 'bring' not 'brig'

Warms the cockles of my heart to see that Republican's are still pretending Bush 43 never existed and observe their collective amnesia about the almost decade long period between 2000 and 2008,

It will be a good skill to have, post Trump.

It warmed Jay's heart every time a U.S. plane got lit up by an Iraqi radar.

LMFAO,

I love the fact that America's post WWII hedgmony and global leadership role, has been severely weakened by Bananna Republicans,

And that Hair Furour is busy using Clerk's Law to destroy what remains, and hand over global leadership to the EU and China.

Who knew that the leadership of the free world, would be handed over to Angela.

LMFAO, plus, Trumpcare guarantee's as many or more dead American's every year, as the whole Vietnam War.

Gotta love that.

We're still on Obama Care and it gets worse by the day.

Look at the bright side. At least King 5 will have no more reports of Canadian health refugees crossing the border.

LMFAO,

Of course Obamacare has it's issues,

There's that little problem of funding the exchanges and pools, Bananna Republican's refuse to pay,

LMFAO,

and it's going to get worse and worse, because Insurance companies "model" the future, and sell plans today, based on their "models" of tomorrow.

Little Big Boy's threat against the copay subsidies has already caused many Insurance companies to remove them from their models and raise rates or cut their networks for 2017. If the Angry Orange Bloat doesn't follow through, it's extra profit for them. If he does follow through, it's nothingburger for them because they are already assuming the money won't be there.

LMFAO.

And every time I think that American's can't possibly get any stupider, you post.

LMFAO,

and the best part of the whole thing, is it's not the "enemy" destroying America and killing vast numbers of 'Murkin's, it's 'Murkin's.

LMFAO
