Washington Post: Trump administration moves to return Russian compounds in Maryland and New York

The Trump administration is moving toward handing back to Russia two diplomatic compounds, near New York City and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, that its officials were ejected from in late December as punishment for Moscow’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

President Barack Obama said Dec. 29 that the compounds were being “used by Russian personnel for intelligence-related purposes” and gave Russia 24 hours to vacate them. Separately, Obama expelled from the United States what he said were 35 Russian “intelligence operatives.”

TRUMP IS either guilty of being a Putin puppet and dumb for doing this now; or he is innocent but very very dumb for doing this now. You decide

Fred,

Actually that property should have been returned along time ago. Actually there was no justification to seize it in the first place. As I recall, after the election, in a fit of rage, BHO seized Russian diplomatic property and expelled the diplomats. This looks like a child in a man's body throwing a temper tantrum.

Keep in mind this was done with absolutely no justification that was presented to the public other than the de facto "trust us." Where I come from such things are called stealing and this is a very serious crime. This type of thing is a cross between keystone cops and 3rd world dictatorship thug behavior.

Normally in such a situation one would expect at least a tit for tat response by the aggrieved party. Mr. Putin typically does not do tit for tat. He is of the type that you push me I will punch you. While there very well might be a time and a place to confront him, in a situation like this where no evidence other than "trust us" was presented this was a cross between thug behavior and an idiot child thrashing about because he didn't get his way saying I've got to hurt SOMEBODY here. Some type of response from Mr. Putin and Russia would have been expected.

We did not get that here. Putin held off on responding in the anticipation that the incoming American Presidential Administration would come to its senses and act accordingly. Bottom line this property should have been returned long, long ago or the people it was confiscated from compensated. To do so is the right thing and while perhaps not politically expedient the right thing to do none the less. I've always been impressed by people who do the right thing even when not expedient. We shall see if Donald Trump has the courage to do the right thing. I'd say 50/50 that he does. What is clear is Russian patience on this and other areas is not going to be infinite.

It's a nice gesture to Russia, and a big FU to the US Intelligence, Diplomatic and Military Establishment, for Twitler to give the FSB back their access to the US's fiberoptic communication networks.

LMFAO, MAGA, covfefe!!!!!!!!

Is covfefe Actually Lord Smallgloves secret Russian Agent code name?

Inquiring minds want to know,.........
