President Trump Affirms Support For Article Five Of The NATO Treaty

Washington Free Beacon: Trump Affirms NATO Support: ‘Absolutely I’d Be Committed to Article Five’

President Donald Trump on Friday affirmed the United States' support for Article Five of the NATO agreement, which commits treaty members to mutual defense in the case of an attack on one.

"Do you think the U.S. should act under Article Five if any of these countries will be under military aggression?" a reporter asked Trump at a joint press conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

Romania is a member of NATO.

"I'm committing the United States to Article Five, and certainly we are there to protect," Trump said. "And that is one of the reasons I want people to make sure we have a very, very strong force by paying the kind of money necessary to have that force."

WNU Editor: I found this story (since the beginning) that President Trump would not respect NATO's article Five and thereby abandoning NATO to be one of the most idiotic out there. I know that this fed into the media narrative on how they view Trump, and why they are afraid of him .... as well as those who oppose him in Europe and elsewhere. But the idea that President Trump would not respect this treaty commitment even though he is committed to a military buildup that would only help NATO .... this tells me more on what these people are thinking about and how they see President Trump than on what President Trump may (or may not) decide to say publicly.

Update: It figures .... just watched a panel on a Canadian 24 hour news channel wondering if he meant what he said.

Aizinio .... I think Jay means morning and night (AM/PM).

Jay .... you are making my case on why a lot of people are having problems in understanding President Trump's language. I have said more than once .... he is not a politician, and his use of language does not follow the standard that politicians and the media use. A perfect example is when then candidate Donald Trump said that the Russians should look for Hillary Clinton's emails. His supporters understood it to be a joke .... which after studying Trump I knew that this is his style of humor. But the opponents of candidate Trump and the media took what he said literally .... that he was calling for the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton's computer networks. I now see the same misunderstandings with Trump as President. Someone like former Director Comey admitted that when he talked with President Trump he always looked for the nuances and hidden meanings of what Trump was saying .... and because he had to do that he had trouble trusting President Trump. But Trump is Trump .... his background is New York real-estate, and his language reflects it.

I think this is why outsiders always have trouble governing in the beginning when they assume the office. They are ignorant of the language and culture that is involved in governing, and more importantly .... the bureaucracy and other politicians who understand the game are always uncomfortable (and ignorant) on how outsiders see them and their approach to governing.

Will President Trump change on how he communicates .... probably. When candidate Obama was running for the Democrat Presidential nomination ... in the beginning he was lousy. His handlers realised this quickly, and then scripted everything with a teleprompter. After that .... it was smooth sailing .... but I noticed they always cringed during his Presidency when he went off script.

I wanted the Russians to find & publish Hillary's emails.

Why?

Because the system is not working.

A)
1) She committed a crime.
2) Everyone knew that she did. The whole public knew.
3) Despite this the justice depart and the FBI (Comey) absolved her of her crime.

B)
1) There were the "snicker, snicker" moments on the Left, where they said we gave all the emails and then more would pop up.
2) There was the lamo excuses where Hillary said "the emails not given were Yoga and wedding emails"

As corrupt as the Democrat party is, could America be hurt more, if Moscow aired the dirty laundry?

A server holding work email in the bathroom? Seriously?

Hillary should be wearing orange sharing a cell with Reality Winner.
