Reports: Saudi Arabia Has Issued A 24 Hour Ultimatum To Qatar To Comply To 10 Demands

Zero Hedge: Saudi Arabia Gives Qatar 24 Hour Ultimatum As Analysts Warn Of "Military Confrontation"

Shortly after imposing a naval blockade in the immediate aftermath of the Qatar diplomatic crisis, one which left the small Gulf nation not only politically isolated and with severed ties to its neighbors but potentially locked out of maritime trade and crippling its oil and LNG exports, on Tuesday SkyNews Arabia reported that Saudi Arabia has given Qatar a 24 hours ultimatum, starting tonight, to fulfill 10 conditions that have been conveyed to Kuwait, which is currently involved in the role of a mediator between Saudi and Qatar.

WNU Editor: Aside from a few Middle Eastern news sources .... no major news network is reporting on this 24 hour ultimatum. But if this story is true .... the big question that needs to be answered is .... what will happen if Qatar does not comply? We know that Qatari airlines is now barred from the airspace of most Middle Eastern countries, the land border with Saudi Arabia is closed, and there is now a  blockade of Qatari shipping .... Biggest Middle East Ports Shun Qatar as Saudis Tighten Isolation (Bloomberg). Is a military confrontation next? For the moment there are no reports of any major Saudi military deployments to the Qatar border (aside from naval deployments) ..... but how long will that last? On top of everything else, there are over 10,000 U.S. military personnel in Qatar .... what happens to them if tensions get worse? I still expect Qatar will capitulate .... but they are cutting it really close.
