Russian President Putin Claims Victory Against The Islamic State In Syria

Reuters: Putin declares "complete victory" on both banks of Euphrates in Syria

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday a complete victory had been achieved over Islamic State militants on both banks of the Euphrates river in Syria.

In comments released by the Kremlin, Putin said the military operation in the area was now finished, and that the focus would switch to a political process that would eventually involve presidential and parliamentary elections.

Putin did not specify whether he was referring to the end of military operations in the whole of Syria, or just the areas around the Euphrates valley.

Obama was refusing to bomb micro-refineries and leafletting oil convoys.

Obama was shamed into supporting the Kurds at Kobane.

Obama was goaded into ramping up the air war after Putin went in big.

A lot of credit goes to the Iranians and Hezbollah. In a way the brought in Putin (like Castro brought the USSR to Angola) by keeping Assad viable for 2 or 3 years until Putin went big.

Obama came late and ramped up slowly when he did at all.

It is more Putin than Obama.

Lol Fred....
I think Russia jumped into the game when the divine Mr. O still had a year's worth of magic left to work.

If O and U.S. DEPT of State had wanted to end IS, they would have put together a serious force and assisted Assad, or at least not interfered.

Come on now.

These guys deserve a Nobel.

Assad and Putin.

"Trump allowed Russia to support win for Assad"

"Russia has supported the internationally recognised government of Syria since the beginning of the Syrian conflict in 2011: politically, with military aid, and since 30 September 2015 also through direct military involvement."

Look at the dates below. I guess geriatrics do not get dates all that well.
"Russian intervention and Aleppo offensive (30 September 2015 – February 2016)"
Those Dates smell like the time of the Bamster

And more proof this started during the time of BamBam.
"In February and July 2017, the two countries further normalised their ties through Syria peace talks in Astana, Kazakhstan on the creation of de-escalation zones in the conflict region"
