Afrin wasn't attacking Turkish forces or civilians. Afrin is a prop to Erodgan's re-election. In truth Erodgan is becoming a war criminal and should be charged as one at the ICC. Trump will come under pressure to cut off arms to Turkey and terminate their participation in the F-35 program. Its as if Erodgan is daring the US to act, same for NATO.
