Jerusalem Post/AP: Iran, Hezbollah 'Prepping to Withdraw' From Southern Syria Near Israel Border

Iranian advisers and Hezbollah fighters will be withdrawing from the southern regions of Daraa and Quneitra near the Golan Heights, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says .

A Syrian war monitor says Iranian troops and fighters of Lebanon's Hezbollah group are getting ready to withdraw from southern Syria.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Thursday Iranian advisers and Hezbollah fighters will be withdrawing from the southern regions of Daraa and Quneitra near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

A Syria-based official with the Iran-led axis of resistance denied the report saying it is "untrue." The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, gave no further details.

Well shoot, the way I see it, Iran can stay there and be destroyed in place along with all the gear they brought or they can leave the areas where Israel doesn't want them.

Not a tough decision.

Anon,

Last time around for the Iranians against Israel, as I recall, it did not go so well. I strongly suspect the Israeli response was only a "tap on the shoulder" compared to what they could do.

Furthermore to make matters worse for them the Israelis were able to penetrate areas where American monitoring was in full force without being detected. What this means is Iran's assets in the US government that would normally warn them of such a thing are rendered useless. As you say pulling out was "not a tough decision."
