Matt Brown, ABC News Online: Opponents of Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have every reason to fear what comes next

Turkey's strongman just got stronger and his opponents have every reason to fear what comes next.

Having just won twin presidential and parliamentary polls, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has run Turkey for more than 15 years, has been re-elected to a more powerful role thanks to changes authorised in a controversial referendum last year.

The post of Prime Minister has been abolished and Mr Erdogan will now have increased power over the budget and the judiciary and the ability to rule by decree and dissolve Parliament.
