FOX News: Trump plans executive action to prevent family separations at border

President Trump is planning to sign an executive order to allow children to stay with parents caught crossing the border illegally -- a step that could avoid the family separations that have triggered a national outcry and political crisis for Republicans.

The action under consideration would allow children to stay in detention with parents for an extended period of time, Fox News has learned. This comes as congressional Republicans scramble to draft legislation to address the same issue, but face challenges mustering the votes.

Trump previewed the new measure, while holding out hope for legislation, during remarks to reporters during a meeting Wednesday with lawmakers.

Update #2: Trump to sign order on family separations at U.S. border (Reuters)

WNU Editor: From what I understand (and I could be completely wrong) .... these kids are now going to be detained with their parents in these detention centers instead of being separated. Here is an easy prediction .... when the press and the open borders crowd figure this one out .... they are going to go into an even greater meltdown because they do not want these migrants to be detained in the first place.

Yep. Just like every other overstuffed Democrat grievance-ballon, this one will blow up right in their face.

Hysterical overreach rules the day.

Exactly. I cannot believe the hypocrisy among Democrats these days. Or were they always like that? There''s a video of Obama being interviewed by a famous news anchor and he supports exactly what trump is doing now and goes on to say it's meant to be a lesson to people who come here illegally. How much more does the left get away with? Meadows cries take tears on her show for ratings and the braindead viewers eat it up..this outrage scheme is really what's at the heart of change in the US
About 2 years ago people like Meadows figured out it's much much easier to just be outraged at everything and present yourself as SJW and holier than holy person than to actually do research and come up with solutions. She's pulling an 8 figure annual salary for basically being a hysterical woman you could talk to at a hairdresser shop. Meanwhile a border agent who makes 50k tops is being villainised for enforcing laws that not only were there during the Obama administration but he proudly defended them. I don't think I'll ever vote Democrat again. .I'm so embarrassed of having fallen for their guilt trip /social division/SJW permanent outrage. ..
So glad that there's a trump now. While he's a pig in many ways, I prefer him over this bunch of outrage actors and liars who don't get anything done. .

Conservatives take note:
Obama never ever supported taking children away from parents when they applied for entrance
These people are applying for entrance and not sneaking in illegally
and your badmouthing of Democrats is blatant nonsense.
Fact: Trump the deal maker backed down in light of potential anti GOP votes because of this inhumane act on HIS part.

so swear all you want. Vote all you want for whom you want, but this has all backfired and the art of the deal utterly failed in this instance

Watching the news. Yup. Meltdown mode on full display. Some people are figuring out what is happening (or may happen).

I note that Trump can be flexible. I don't recall flexible being a word one would associate with a president such as obamma. But there's always obbmacare to ponder. Now there's a demonstration of legislative flexibility.

Fact: many in GOP outraged by separating children from parents. Fact: cheaper to keep kids and parents together. Fact: GOP now knows the Trump move likely to cost them at election time. Fact: dumping on Dems another deflection from dumb Trump move which that master of the deal just reversed himself on. Why did he change his position?

Cute fact machine...
Fact: you're believing your own nonsense
Fact: you're likely a Democrat
Fact: you hope for trump collusion after 2 years

Haha

Migrant children sent to shelters with histories of abuse allegations

Nope. Was watching on CBC in Canada

Fred,
Agreed. But the bigger story is that the media is focused on the 2,000 children that are under U.S. care. But not the 10,000 migrant kids under U.S. care, but were told by their parents to take a train and go to America. I can only imagine the trauma of what these kids must have gone through. Being abandoned by your parents. Traveling to America and God only knows what they encountered while doing that. Sad to say, but these detention centers are probably far more preferable than the hell that they left.

Same thing. They share syndicated conteNT. The talking points are mass produced (left and right. .both are guilty of this)..

Vic
I am merely referring to the disgraceful act of separating children from parents as was done by Americans in America and not anything that has taken place prior to this horrible situation. To deal with other issues remains a deflection on this single issue, under discussion here.

War News Updates Editor said...

No deflection at all. The story is the U.S. government taking care of migrant children. I can understand the 10,000 being taken care of .... they have been abandoned/forcibly kicked out by their parents in Central America. But if someone breaks the law in the U.S., and it involves both parents who do not have any other family members or legal guardians present, the state does come in and take the children. So why should U.S. families be treated one way when they break the law, and migrant families who break the law illegally by entering the U.S. be treated another. I do not know the exact numbers, but the impression I have is that those numbers .... children taken from American Families who have broken the law .... is staggering. If anyone knows the number or any other details please post it here, it is something that I would like to know (an no .... Google is not helpful).

Wow!!!! Why all this after 20+ years!! Your all falling for the Media circus. It's about the election and this is a distraction away from the IG report. Wake up!

Flip flop Trump!

Thanks Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael of course it is. I don't think many on the GOP side fall for this nonsense. Just go to YouTube and watch Obama interviews on immigration. Democrats are complete hypocrits at the moment and they will lose another election because of it. This and because of their despicable outrage acting. No one believes them anymore. They ruined a brand within 8 years and still bet on race politics. No thanks
