Russia, China, And The EU Have Agreed To A New Financial Mechanism To Dodge Iran Sanctions

CNBC: Europe, Russia and China join forces with a new mechanism to dodge Iran sanctions

* European Union's foreign policy chief announced Monday that the bloc was creating a new payment mechanism to allow countries to transact with Iran while avoiding U.S. sanctions.
* Called the "special purpose vehicle" (SPV), this mechanism would aim to "assist and reassure economic operators pursuing legitimate business with Iran," according to a joint statement released by the remaining members of the Iran nuclear deal.
* The U.S. has the power to expand its sanctions to target the mechanism, putting the venture's feasibility into doubt.

In the latest sign of the growing divide between Washington and its allies, the European Union's foreign policy chief announced Monday that the bloc was creating a new payment mechanism to allow countries to transact with Iran while avoiding U.S. sanctions.

Called the "special purpose vehicle" (SPV), this mechanism would aim to "assist and reassure economic operators pursuing legitimate business with Iran," according to a joint statement released by the remaining members of the Iran nuclear deal — France, Britain, Germany, Russia and China.

Is this a case of watch what we do and not what we say?
Euro multi-nationals are closing up Iranian operations ahead of full sanctions.
If the Euro's are deadly serious to align with Russia and China to keep the Mullahs funded so they can wage war in Yemen, Syria and buy off Iraqi politicians then that is a big problem they are causing with the US's security goals in the region. Not just the US but Israel and the Sunni states. Things could turn ugly in that event between the them and the EU.

Who cares? It's not that bog of a market.

If we enforce there could be problems for them.

I don't think many Europeans know that this is happening nor are for it nor would vote for it. Someone is getting rich here for pushing this through..bribes anyone?

The Euros are fond of stating the US is damaging trans Atlantic bonds and withdrawing from the world. The US withdrawal from the Iran deal didn’t have a strategic impact on Europe as Iran already has IRBMs able to reach Europe and the deal had temporary nominal restraints on Iran’s weaponization of a nuclear weapon. By 2025 Iran would be free to rapidly field a significant nuclear threat to Europe.

Now Europe attacking the role of the dollar is a strategic threat to the USA and could cause worldwide global financial panics. This is a huge threat to trans Atlantic ties. This could cause the US to withdraw its military from Europe because of anger or economic reasons should the dollar go in free fall in currency markets. It’s as if the Euros want to see the end of NATO.

Ordinary EU citizens have no say in this. Its the new era "nobels" in europe that decides our faith in the coming decades now.

I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few European officials who are for this (against the will of ordinary EU citizens) are compromised by Russia and perhaps even China. This should be looked at. Who benefits?

Great. We can scrap NATO now.

After all this criticism and straight up lies the media does@ Trump, I really wonder what Merkel of "powerhouse Germany" has achieved lately? She was best buddy of Obama. She brought Europe the almost collapse of the Eurozone, the refuge crisis, is selling German interests to Russian oil, like wtf!? Why is she treated so nicely and the media claims Trump is fing Nato up? Under Trump, Nato is finally spending not just talking. Under trump the oil issue was brought up.

It really feels like he's the only president in a looong time who at least tells it like it is and does something about it - once you get to filter out his marketing BS/tactics, he's not that bad.

It is not a new era of nobles.

The nobles never forgot who they were.

German nobles are especially snobby.

There is some new blood in the nobility, but there is always new blood to some small degree in every class.

Time for another war of peasants against the nobility.
