Bloomberg: Germany Probes China Reporters for Snooping Around Military

* Xinhua reporters covered Merkel visit to NATO unit in Germany
* They’re said to have filmed hardware and interviewed soldiers

Germany’s military is investigating what information three Chinese reporters collected while Chancellor Angela Merkel visited a NATO unit, signaling heightened mistrust of the state-run Xinhua news agency.

The Xinhua reporters raised suspicion by filming military equipment and interviewing soldiers about their daily routines, according to a person familiar with the incident who asked not to be identified discussing security matters. They were accredited along with other journalists to enter the base and report on Merkel’s visit to the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force training area at Munster, Germany, on May 20.

WNU Editor: The Chinese rarely let foreign reporters cover President Xi when he makes a visit to a military base. Everything is scripted and planned, and foreign reporters (if permitted) are always kept at a distance.

That should be up to each country in NATO. Of course they could ease tensions by just ordering the military members of NATO to not be interviewed but then that would lesson the US strategy of alienating China. What next, prohibit China from interacting with members of the UN.

Of course they should not be allowed as they will be spies. Wtf is wrong with our leaders for not adjusting to the obvious threat we are facing, has been starring at us for decades now, getting closer?

What is wrong with the leaders, as in the politicians?

They are motivated by the strategy of ensuring there is the appearance of the need to continue financing the war machine and so loopholes are necessary to provide "evidence" from time to time that such a need is justified.

At this point of course it is the Chinese that need to be blocked but hey they needed to be blocked 5, 10, 15, etc., years ago. Same with the Russians but because China is on the outs right now, it is the Chinese as those in power are trying very hard to create hate in the country towards the Chinese.

For those who want war no matter with whom, justified or otherwise, so bad they are willing to send other people's sons and daughters into harms way, that they pay money to get the support of the politiciens, things are looking up right now.

That is what we do. We gather in the O club and plot the next war. Pinky and the brain are there too.

Iran was on the list of countries to "disrupt" developed long ago.

Iranian police storm YOGA class then arrest group of 30 men and women for wearing inappropriate outfits

For some reason Bob thinks the ayatollahs add net positive value.

I am so happy for you Bob.

You have stumbled or bumbled into a list of terror sponsoring countries.

- Syria gave logistical and intel support to jihadis going into Iraq after 2003.

- Sudan was taken care of by the people. That is the country that persecuted Black Muslims (Dharfur) that the Left was so hot and heavy about. They also persecuted the South Sudanese. Remember the Clooney Crusade over Dharfur? Also they hosted Osama bin Laden.

- Somalia is a failed socialist state (I mean socialist paradise ) with Al Shabaab and Al Qaeda since at least 1991. Bob, do you think it is funny, funny for Al Shabaab to go into Kenya and shoot up civilian at a shopping mall. I have sincere doubts that you object to such things.

- Yemen has AQAP and is also a failed state. That North South reconciliation lasted 10 or 15 years. Then the Arab Spring came and it was gone. When AL Qaeda is crawling all over there and the Houthis support Iranian Ayatollahs what do you expect. Yemen is a training and rear area (production) for Al Qaeda. I suppose you like bombs going off on planes overhead.

- Iraq never lived up to the armistice.

- Libya is a well known terror sponsor. Qadaffi gave it up and then Obama, the fool, broke our agreement.

- Iran provided logistical support and a safe area for Al Qaeda among other things.

I suppose if this was WW2 and Wesley Clarke had listed Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, you would likewise be all hot and bothered. Typical.
