U.S. President Trump Accuses The New York Times Of Treason For Publishing Story That The U.S. Is Launching Cyber Attacks Against Russia

Daily Mail: Trump furiously DENIES claims that the US is increasing cyber attacks on Russia and that he has NOT been told because Pentagon officials fear he might CANCEL the operation

* Donald Trump tweeted his denial on Saturday night
* Comes after the New York Times released a report detailing the country's cyber attacks on Russia
* The report also details how the Pentagon has maneuvered around the President, using a provision added to the military authorization bill last summer
* 'Do you believe that the Failing New York Times just did a story stating that the United States is substantially increasing Cyber Attacks on Russia,' Trump said
* He added: 'This is a virtual act of Treason by a once great paper so desperate for a story, any story, even if bad for our Country...ALSO, NOT TRUE!
* The new provision comes as various officials fear the president could cancel their operations or tell other world leaders sensitive information

President Trump was in a Twitter frenzy on Saturday, denying reports that the United States has increased cyber attacks on Russia.

Donald Trump was furious at reports that the Pentagon maneuvered around him to carry out the attacks on Russia in fear he would cancel the operation or engage with talks with Vladimir Putin.

'Do you believe that the Failing New York Times just did a story stating that the United States is substantially increasing Cyber Attacks on Russia,' Trump said in the Saturday tweet thread.

"WNU Editor: WTF!!!!! If this report is true, Russia would be viewing this as an act of war."

"Pentagon and intelligence officials describe to the Times "broad hesitation" to tell Trump about the details of the operations against Russia. They tell the Times there was concern over how Trump would react, and the possibility that Trump might reverse the operations or discuss it with foreign officials. "

Which shows Trump in a flattering light.

If assuming that the Pentagon was doing this and Trump would do a 180, then that makes Trump the good guy.

Somehow that is lost on the NYT.

Another point is that why is NYT more upset that the Prez would stop this than the fact that the Pentagon might be doing this?

I see it as put up or shut up time for the NYT. If they allege this and it is not true, they need to be demonitized or otherwise shut down.

Neocons: "We can't tell Trump when we commit undeclared acts of war because he might spill the beans."

Also neocons: "Hey NYT, guess what we're doing.."

Bolton should be given America's highest honor and be sent on the first manned mission to the sun.

Iran was caught laying mines in the 19880s, the Iran Ajr.

Now they have been caught retrieving a dud limpet mine.

Occam's Razor says they certainly have a motive given the economic sanctions and past performance.

Yeah that's exactly what you do when you're being beset from all sides and threatened with absolute annihilation on a weekly basis. You go attack international shipping lanes at random and blow up two innocent Japanese oil tankers while literally sitting in a room with the Japanese president. This Rouhani guy is a real mastermind, huh?

Just like when Assad performed the EXTREMELY logical act of launching gas munitions, the very thing he was told would bring about his ruination, when he already had East Ghoutta surrounded and was negotiating a peaceful surrender with the few rebels inside who weren't al qaeda affiliated.

Just like has happened with the Ghoutta gas scam in recent weeks, there will come a day when the actual perpetrators of these events are laid bare to the public, and I can only hope that their punishment continues long after they retreat back to their home country.

"Yeah that's exactly what you do when you're being beset from all sides "

1) They did it before Iran Ajr

2) They are not beset from all sides. Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and the former soviet Republics are not gunning for them. Russia and China are in their corner.

3) Trump is the one that wanted to pull put of Syria and was criticized for it. Economic pressure he is using. Starting new wars not so much.

Time for the leadership of the New York Slimes to be arrested. The rag is but a hollow shell of what it once was.

are we to trust the NYTimes, with a long article, giving names of those writing it; or Trump, who never tells a lie. Or what do we say he has to be kept out of the loop and why that might be what is taking place. And if this is an act of war, what of known Russian involvement in our elections?

NYT reporters have put their names to big lies before.

Duranty comes to mind. He won a Pullitzer for lying.

I feel as if is the only remaining independent news site that still beleives that America does good for the world and cares.
You have to be extremely stupid to beleive that Iran would want to create more problems for themselves.
Just remember, it was usa that lied about the war on Iraq, same goes for Yemen and Syria.
All America can do is lie and sanction countries because they truly have no friends aside from isisrael

If you are going to mention occam's razor at the very least learn to use it correctly
Making a wild guess because it fits your beliefs is not what Occam's razor is all about

AntiTroll spot on with his comnents like akways. Thanks for shedding the light.

Simplest explanation is that Iran attacked the tankers. The Only 2 countries in the past that have attacked them are Iraq and Iran. Iraq is under different leadership and too far away.

Iran has used multiple weapon types against tankers.

I read Antitroll's comment that WNU is one of the only few independent news sites "that still believes America does good" and that he believes WNU is stupid.

That story in that paper was cleared by the Trump Pentagon before publication says Newsweek

News Week which is the publication sold for $1 and which had an editor saying the MSM is worth 15 percentage points to any Democrat presidential contender.

That Newsweek.

Also a lot of factions in the Pentagon. They might nominally work for Trump, but that is it.
