Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau To Form A Minority Governent

CBC: Liberals take losses but win enough in Quebec, Ontario and Atlantic Canada to form minority government

Trudeau, Scheer and Bloc Leader Yves-François Blanchet won their seats. Bernier didn't.

After a tight campaign that saw the two leading parties struggle to break out of the pack, the Liberals under Justin Trudeau have held on to just enough seats in Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario to secure a minority government.

Both Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh have spoken with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to acknowledge the election results.

The Liberals managed to win despite preliminary numbers showing the Conservatives won the popular vote, taking 34.4 per cent of the vote to the Liberals' 33.1 per cent. That result was most pronounced in the Prairies, where Conservative turnout and support was very high.

WNU Editor: The Conservatives won the popular vote, but the Liberals won the most seats. Expect a Liberal - NDP coalition to come out of this election.

In Canada Conservatives won the popular vote but libs won the seats.

In the US Hillary (I call everyone else traitor Clinton) won the popular vote, but lost the electoral college is raw and butt hurt that she lost. Libs did not stuff enough ballot boxes and/or in the right precincts.

Talk about elections why is the supposedly Russian hacked DNC server sitting in the Ukraine?

What are the left-libtards hiding?

Why do the Demotards keep the FBI from investigating the DNC server?

Because they would find the DNC server hack was an inside job, a false flag.

Suck ass liberals.

It has been 1/2 a century since John Kerry served. One man cannot carry the obligation for all his political kin.

The type of Kin that lives in Massachusetts and parks his luxury yacht in Rhode Island to avoid taxes.

John Kerry Saves $500,000 By Docking 76-Foot Luxury Yacht Out Of State

- Huff Poo

" Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is docking his family’s new $7 million yacht in neighboring Rhode Island, allowing him to avoid paying roughly $500,000 in taxes to the cash-strapped Bay State.

If the “Isabel” were kept at the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee’s summer vacation home on Nantucket, or in Boston Harbor near his city residence, he would be liable for $437,500 in one-time sales tax. He would also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes."

The liberals have enough seats that they can pass bills with support from either the Conservatives, NDP, or Bloc. They will not give the NDP the satisfaction of a coalition, nor credibility through any sort of governance. The Liberals are in it for themselves.

On a side note, I think electoral reform is dead given the Liberals can nearly win a majority with less than a third of the vote.

What you don't appreciate is that forming a minority government is subject to the Liberals having given some serious concessions to whichever party it is that forms the coalition with them and that that coalition can disappear under a number of circumstances such as:

1. failure to deliver on the serious concessions,
2. failure to take seriously the minor party's concerns on any issue no matter how insignificant it might be,
3. some unforeseen circumstance that causes that party to cancel out on the coalition, such as another integrity feau paux on the part of Justin, or personal smear by Justin on the other party's leader,
4. enough of that party's members deciding against their leader's decision to continue with the coalition and voting with the opposition on a vote of confidence issue in which case there will be another general election.

This is not by any means a complete list of probabilities. Look up the history of Joe Clark's tenure as Prime Minister.

The wealthy in America are in control and the non wealthy are not. The Republican party is owned by the wealthy, but, on the other hand the Democratic party is owned by the wealthy.

You may have seen the impact Joe Lieberman had on the voting in the Senate when he, an independent was the deciding vote. In every case he held out until he got something for his vote, usually to go along with the Republicans.

American politicians are bought and paid for although people like AOC tend to look very clean, at first, but eventually they go with the money too.

What is interesting is how they can continually fool their fellow Americans by saying what the people want to hear, while time and again voting for what their owners want. Susan Collins is a prime example of that bait and switch routine and the people fall for it every time thinking they, the people, have power via the election box.

"Your vote counts." and that may be true, but first, only if it is actually counted as cast and second, even then, maybe not as your representative looks to his owner first on every vote in congress.

The people who adamantly support Trump may be a cult, by actually it is likely they have recognized how fake that democratic song and dance really is and has been for a long time, and are merely welcoming someone, anyone who says to the establishment, up yours. Also those people who praise the democratic USA are actually very cult like in their beliefs in that respect and/or have realized there is nothing they can do about it. Somewhat like the religious cults around the country.

If the laws allow tax exemptions, you take them. To dump on Kerry for being smart is plain assholish. After all, read up on the Panama Papers to see what goes on in your nation...many wealthy register boats in states where they can avoid taxes in their home state. This is a poor try to indict a war hero so one can defend a draft dodger president

Bob,

The Liberals don't have to form a coalition, and they won't. It makes no sense politically for them to do so. That would make them beholden to a single lesser party and increase the profile of that party, which further hampers the Liberals future electoral fortunes.

On your 4th point, the Liberal party is not going to oust their leader. He just won their second election in a row. And besides, the Liberals have proven ruthless with dissenting members (aka JWR and Jane Philpott).

As for Joe "Who" Clark, he was a loser PM with no natural allies in the Liberals or NDP, which is why he lost after only a few months.
