Europe Is Growing Impatient On Ukraine

Mark Temnycky, RCW: Is Europe Giving Up on Ukraine?

There are worrying signs that the big players in the European Union may be ready to give up on Ukraine. April 2019 marked the fifth anniversary of the conflict in the Donbas, and while deliberations were recently held to try and resolve this crisis, France and Germany have signaled their fatigue with the conflict and a desire to return to a normal relationship with Moscow.

Throughout the course of the conflict, Ukraine has made real strides toward EU integration. The Eastern European state rebuilt its military capabilities, acquired visa-free travel, established the High Anti-Corruption Court, and introduced crucial decentralization reforms.

But critics have argued that Ukraine’s anti-corruption reforms have failed since no one is behind bars and raised concerns over the Zelenskyy administration’s ties with some of Ukraine’s notorious oligarchs. Given these criticisms, and the lack of progress in the east, some European leaders seem to want a new approach with Ukraine.

WNU Editor: Europe is not "giving up" on Ukraine right now, but they are getting impatient. Ukraine President Zelenskiy won his election in a landslide on the promise that he would end the war and to fight corruption.  They want to see progress, and European leaders want to couple this progress with the first steps to end Russian sanctions.

Merkel: "We can do it" (with no plan)

NOW: "Merkel says Germany ‘utterly failed’ and "WE were kidding ourselves"

NO, MAM!----YOU---- were kidding yourself. YOU decided without support to do this. YOU almost destroyed the EU. YOU make oil deals with Russia and YOU destroy the German military. Get off that chair

I understand that France consider themselves the most important countries in Europe and the shot callers.

But Britain is in the same league, so why do we not see a trio?

There is something wrong with that and it has nothing to do with who is PM in the past or at the moment. IMO it is about ego, psychopathic, poorly informed ego.

The French GDP is slightly higher than the UK, but French sovereign debt is 96.5% of GDP compared to 86.58% for the UK. ... Both countries have the same inflation rate of 2.3%, though the 10Y rate in the UK is 1.23% compared to 0.67% in France, meaning it is cheaper to do long-term borrowing in France.

There is no Trump fatigue.

There is RINO fatigue. We hate putting up with them,

There is anger at the Turtle.

There is anger or disappoint at Miss Lindsey.

The is anger at Mitt Romney. Well, not so much. People are smiling. His poll #s just went negative over his twitter account Pierre Delecto. Yes, Conservatives will pile on during the primaries and kick his bum out.

It is funny when WNU writes the following and the Fred Lapids (It looks like his handiwork anyway) posts "Voters Disapprove Of Trump's Decision On Syria 2-1"

"WNU Editor: America badly needs a debate on what are its political/economic/military/and strategic priorities. In the current situation the U.S. is involved in almost every conflict and dispute, with many of them having no strategic value to U.S. interests. This has got to stop. I do not think Americans want to bleed blood and treasure running an empire."

The same ass-shits that complain about the pullout

1) Never made Kurdish nation statehood an issue.
2) Never made an issue of Assad killing American soldiers from 2003 to 2011.
3) Never made an issue of Obama's mealy mouthed Syria strategy. Remember his staunch stand on non-lethal aid or "The Brave One" being pushed into helping defend Kobane against ISIS. That's right. That coward Obama did not want to defend Kobane.
