ABC News Online: NATO is suffering from a 'brain death' — the EU is the cure, says Emmanuel Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron says Washington's antipathy to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) alliance is causing its "brain death", which should prompt the European Union (EU) to step up as a world power.

...and BAM goes another irony meter. Every NATO nation has been coasting on the back of the US for decades. Maintaining social programs and welfare states instead of standing up a military. Opening their borders to an Arab invasion then of course providing housing, food, medical and education to every one of them. That would be the "Brain Death", Macron.

If it takes a light weight like Macron to call out the obvious demise of intellectualism in Europe, you know we are in trouble

And Merkel, again, instead of lifting Europe to new heights, does what she does best.. f*ck it all up
