Update: Roger Stone guilty of witness tampering, lying to Congress (AP)

WNU Editor: Lying under oath and witness tampering are serious crimes. And even though Roger Stone has been convicted on what is essentially a process crime, it does not minimize the seriousness on what he did.

I really don't care. If Republicans are routinely convicted for crimes that Democrats routinely do also but are never prosecuted, then I see it as political and not justice.

We have the makings of a civil war.

I do not say it lightly. The Stone prosecution is little different than how the DC Madame case was adjudicated. Two Republican politicians were name and no one else. What am I suppose to believe? That Democrats do not fool around with female prostitutes or that they all like little boys?

Brennan Sends President Trump Ominous Warning in the Middle of Schiff’s Impeachment Show Trial, ‘May Your Downfall be Swift’

Are the FBI/CIA the new praetorian Guard? Do they make and unmake presidents?

Must every candidate for office make the walk up the hill to Brennan's domicile and ask for his blessing?

In his final statement to the jury in the trial of political operative Roger Stone, federal prosecutor Michael Marando sought to boil the case down to a simple and stark premise.

"I know we live in a world nowadays with Twitter, tweets, social media, where you can find any political view you want," he said. "However, in our institutions of self-governance — courts of law or committee hearings, where people under oath have to testify — truth still matters."

Marando didn't mention President Donald Trump in that portion of his closing — he didn't have to. He and his colleagues had already made Trump a central character in the trial that ended with a conviction of the president's longtime associate on seven felonies — a trial that presented new information about the Trump campaign's zeal to capitalize on Russia's election interference in 2016.

Prosecutors argued that Stone, charged with obstructing a Congressional investigation, lied to Congress because the truth was "terrible" for Trump. They presented evidence painting a picture of a candidate who was actively involved in his campaign's effort to benefit from hacked emails obtained by WikiLeaks that were the fruits of a Russian intelligence operation. And they presented phone records and testimony suggesting that Trump didn't tell the truth in written answers to special counsel Robert Mueller, when Trump said he didn't remember ever discussing WikiLeaks with Stone.

Fred R. Lapides,

Where is the DNC server and why won't the DNC let the FBI look at it?

Seth Rich murdered for a wallet that was never taken.

Wikileaks source still unknown.

Download speeds faster than can be done over internet.

But look at Stone.

If it was not common criminal who murdered Seth Rich, then a good offense makes more sense than paying defense.

Some of Fox News' biggest personalities expressed sympathy for former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch during her impeachment testimony on Friday — especially after President Trump attacked her via Twitter mid-hearing.

The state of play: Bret Baier called Trump's tweets "a turning point in this hearing," noting that Yovanovitch was "already a sympathetic witness" and that it allowed House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to raise the possibility of witness tampering.

Yovanovitch called the tweets "very intimidating" after Schiff read them in real-time.
Chris Wallace similarly said on air during a break in the hearing: "If you are not moved by the testimony of Marie Yovanovitch today, you don't have a pulse."

All these tough, tough Democrat women that fall apart whenever the cameras appear.

Tears, hurt tones, and saying you are scared must really help when negotiating with Somali warlords and Russian autocrats.

Democrats hide behind Children and coach Democrat women to pour on the waterworks.
