President Trump Reacts To The IG Report On The Russia Probe

CNBC: Trump: IG report of justified campaign probe shows 'attempted overthrow' of government

The long-awaited report by the Justice Department's watchdog of the FBI's probe of his 2016 campaign, released Monday, rebutted Trump's regular depiction of a politically biased plot against him.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Monday that a new Justice Department report that found a solid legal basis for the original FBI investigation of his 2016 campaign had actually documented an "attempted overthrow" of the government that was "far worse than I ever thought possible.

"It is an embarrassment to our country, it is dishonest, it is everything that a lot of people thought it would be except far worse," he said at the White House, following the release of the long-awaited report by the Justice Department's watchdog that rebutted his regular depiction of a politically biased plot against him.

While the report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz rebutted Trump's repeated claim that his campaign was spied on by the FBI as part of a politically motivated "witch hunt," Trump and his allies looked to focus on investigator missteps documented in the report.

WNU Editor: This is my advice to President Trump. From what I have read so far, today’s IG report provides clear evidence that the FBI and DOJ violated the law and FISA protocols to obtain the Carter Page spy warrants that resulted in the targeting of his campaign. I am also not surprise that the IG did not implicate senior officials in his report. It was not his priority, but he still disclosed that there were both "exposés and cover-ups" at the same time. What President Trump should now do is directly appoint a special counsel from outside of the DOJ and FBI to investigate this scandal and other crimes that have been exposed. Will he do take my recommendation? Probably not. The election is in eleven months, and Special Prosecutor Durham's criminal investigation is fully underway right now. But maybe after the election .... should he win.

The report does not provide clear evidence that the “FBI” violated the law. https://www.businessinsider.com/doj-inspector-general-report-russia-probe-2019-12

I would think partisanship is a tough one to prove despite appearances, Blackdog.
Nonetheless the FBI has an image situation that is not positive as a result of this investigation. An image that cost Russia little or nothing.

The integrity of special counsels is not flying serene and unquestioned at this point. Also, the time for them to do their work is lengthy. A special counsel would only seem justified if it could not be expected that the AG and his attorneys could not do a fair job. Is there any evidence to support that worry? Can you think of a special counsel investigation that cleared the air and was above reproach? I say "sit back, stay calm, and wait to hear what the AG and his team come up with."

Totally agree Mr. Smith. Let’s remember how this image situation started. With certain individuals not liking the information that they where receiving and trying to control the narrative of what was happening by discrediting the FBI. Just because you don’t like what you are told doesn’t make it not true.

FBI Didn't Tell Surveillance Court That Carter Page Was "Operational Contact" For CIA With "Positive Assessment"

https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/fbi-didnt-tell-surveillance-court-carter-page-was-‘operational-contact’-cia-‘positive

So basically Carter Page is keeping the CIA up to date on his discussions with the Russians. The CIA likes this. Until some partisan hacks decide to burn him.

"Page graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy in 1993"

So when Mr. Page talks to the Russians, he tells the CIA about it. All cards on the table. Because Mr. Page supports a political candidate that Brennan does not like, he becomes not
only expendable to further Democrat Party interests, but he is lied about.

And the Pentagon is wondering why the rank & file see Russia positively in a recent poll.

Could it be a simple as despite their warts and there are many, the Russian rulers are pro Christian and anti-Muslims terrorist?

After all who have we been fighting for 2 decades? Oh yeah Muslim terrorists. Muslim terrorists, who always break the Geneva conventions, but who we have to mirandize. With their high ideals that the Swamp Dwellers do not subject themselves to, the troops might feel the the Chinese are not the only ones that can lose the Mandate of Heaven.

[editor's note: Not only that, an FBI employee - undoubtedly 'resistance' lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, altered an email to specifically state that Page was "not a source" for the CIA.]

No bias?
