Seventy-Five Years Ago The German City Of Dresden Was Firebombed

Daily Mail: Into the inferno: Families boiled alive as they hid in water tanks and fleeing survivors trapped in molten tarmac... 75 years on, the most horrifically vivid account you'll ever read of the Allied bombing of Dresden – by a British PoW who saw it all

During the final months of World War II, from February 13 to 15, 1945, Allied forces bombed the ancient, cathedral city of Dresden, in eastern Germany.

The bombing was controversial because Dresden's contribution to the war effort was minimal compared with other German cities — though it was a key transport junction and used by German forces to defend the country against Soviet forces approaching from the east.

Before the huge air raid, it had not suffered a major Allied attack. By February 15, however, it was a smouldering ruin — 2,400 tons of high explosives and 1,500 tons of incendiary bombs were dropped on the city. An unknown number of civilians, somewhere between 35,000 and 135,000, were dead.

British rifleman Victor Gregg was one of hundreds of men being held as a PoW in the city by the Germans. On the 75th anniversary of the start of the bombing, this is his eyewitness account of the devastation he left behind.

See how only 1-2 countries in the world ever apologized for their war crimes? Hint:Usa is not one of them. No no no. Don't ever apologise. That's weakness and you're not allowed to show "weakness" or ever admit fault in this society of the free. If you do you lose your job and will be outcast. Good luck everyone with what's happening to your moral compass. Survival of the worst.

The Bombing of Dresden was Russia's fault.

In most of my adult life I've never seen any difference in these bombings and the holocaust.

The Americans bombed a target at the request of Russians to support the Russian advance.

Little did America know that the Russians fudged their analysis.

I never saw any difference between the holocaust and the Swedes selling iron to the NAZIs.

If the Swedes had just bought some Russian icebreakers, Norway and Denmark would never have been invaded.

And Narvik would not have been invaded twice in one day!

Nobody can help you understand anything if you dont see the difference between the holocaust and capitalism.

No German tanks or U boats without the good Swedish Iron.

The Turks did not sell the Germans cobalt during WW2. Imagine if they had. The Luftwaffe would have ruled the skies.

The Turks refused to sell the Germans cobalt and shortened the war by several months or 2 years.

May the war have been over in 1941 if Sweden had not sold iron the the Wehrmacht? Perhaps Auschwitz-Birkenau would not have been built of had a very short life?

Don't worry. Sweden is in good company. Uncle Joe sold war material to the NAZIs too.
