Editor's Note

Update 15:10 EST: It takes about two hours for me to drive from my chalet to Montreal, and for those who want to know, there was no traffic on the highway and there is definitely no traffic on the streets of Montreal. Before heading to my home I made the decision to drop by an office that a friend lets me keep in Old Montreal. He is the senior partner in a large law-firm, and he is located on Place d'Armes where Montreal's version of the Notre-Dame Basilica is also located (see above picture). I stepped in, took some paper that I needed for my home printer, stepped out and it was then that it hit me. In a place where there are usually 100 to 200 tourists milling about, and even more in the church on a Sunday morning, I was the only one on the street (see above video).

This pandemic is very real.

WNU Editor: Need to go back to Montreal this morning to check out the house. It has definitely been a surreal week isolated in my chalet in the Laurentians. When I reflect about it, it has been years since I have slept as much as I did this week. The fresh air always knocks me out, but I usually recover within 2 or 3 days. Not this week. I think it was all the phone calls and hearing what other people were going through that kinda/sorta drained me. When I think about it, in all fairness this experience is draining all of us. So far there is only one person that I know who has contracted the coronavirus virus. The husband of a very good friend of mine was diagnosed a few days ago. They live across the Hudson River from New York City in New Jersey, and he was going through a regimen of chemotherapy last week when he started to feel sick. Naturally she is very upset and scared on what they are going through. My prayers are with them.

Blogging will return later this afternoon when I get back, and I am going to set up a routine/plan to post as much as I can. There is a lot of news that is being ignored and/or under-reported, and it needs to get out there.

Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Trump’s dubious claim that hydroxychloroquine could be used to treat COVID-19 has led to hoarding, putting Lupus patients and others at even greater risk. As of Saturday afternoon, Anna Valdez had 27 pills left. That number is now down to 25.
