US Navy Mocks Iran In Saying They Are 'Experts' At Building Ships To Be 'Targets'

The US Navy mocked Iran for being 'experts' at building a target ship in an Instagram post that showed a bogus American aircraft carrier with a bullseye on it

Daily Mail: US Navy mocks Iran in meme by claiming they are 'experts' at building ships to be 'targets' after they carried out a missile attack on dummy American aircraft carrier

* The US Navy called out Iran for being 'experts' at building a target ship in a social media post that showed a bogus American aircraft carrier with a bullseye
* The Instagram post Wednesday comes after Iran built the replica vessel and had its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard fire a missile at it
* The military exercise in the strategic Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday was staged amid rising tensions between Iran and Washington
* The exercise was televised on state run television and condemned by the Navy as 'irresponsible and reckless'

The US Navy mocked Iran for being 'experts' at building a target ship in an Instagram post that showed a bogus American aircraft carrier with a bullseye on it.

The Navy proclaimed in a meme, 'IRAN BUILDS TARGET SHIP', revealing an overhead view of the fake vessel sitting at a port, unprotected and vulnerable with a bullseye, and adds across the bottom of the image, 'THEY'RE EXPERTS AT THAT'.

The post comes after Iran built the replica of a Nimitz-class carrier and had its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard fire a missile at it in the strategic Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday amid tensions between Iran and Washington.

They're experts at that.

Good one NAVY. Love it!

It would be something if two or three Mk 48 torpedoes should suddenly (mysteriously) detonate right under the keel of that thing.

"Never underestimate Iran." Excellent advice!! In fact, one should never underestimate an enemy. The US has a strong tendency to both vastly overestimate it's own capabilities while vastly underestimating those of adversaries and potential adversaries.

In such a situation, what could possibly go wrong isn't a good question. The more appropriate question would be what can possibly right here for America?

The Iranians are indeed experts at building ships that have the defensive capabilities that US ships have and overcoming them. They've demonstrated this repeatedly yet our leadership "mocks" this. I must say I'm glad I don't have a loved one whose serving on an aircraft carrier. Of course with our current leadership with the exception of Trump and his inner circle no confidence is inspired.

After all generals Mattis and others simply can't be "distracted" long enough to serve and protect innocent Americans. The Iranians and others are "mocking" us and our idiot leadership.

The Russians and Chinese will try and send "leaks" to the media suggesting they are trying to help Trump in an attempt to manipulate us into voting agaisnt our interests. This is an attempt at misdirection.

Rasmussen Reports currently has Trump's approval rating at 50%. It's a reasonable assumption that those who approve will vote Trunp. Furthermore it's a reasonable assumption that at least 5% who don't approve will "hold their noses" and vote Trump

Essentially Trump has this!! We're gonna be a great country!! Being great was within our grasp. Then COVID-19 hit!! The only real options for the Democrats is to manipulate the stats on COVID-19 to scare us and to try and steal the election either through mail in voter fraud or turning to illegal immigrants. To this end I'd fully expect Russia and China to be fully behind the Democrats.

Exactly, Iran has never demonstrated any combat capability against a peer military, let alone the united States (not withstanding Iran Iraq war).
A flotilla of potential artificial reefs, Iran knows it and the U. S knows it. Subs in the shallows and mines ate about all they have at their disposal against the USN.

Iran is like a little child that swats at a tigers tale, eventually the Tiger is going to maul them. They wouldn't last 5 minutes against any western power, maybe 10 against the Russians and 15 against Iraq.

A corvette can sink a destroyer. The Egyptians proved it. It was decades ago, but what what do we know now other than air defenses and anti-ship missiles have both improved?

Fusion, you are Canadian and Fazman, you are Aussie. As such, your loved ones are not in danger. As an American, mine are and no, I did not say or imply the US military is the worst in the world. Very respectfully it helps to read posts in their entirety carefully examining the context before reaching conclusions.

In addition to all of this there's little incentive to go to the time and expense to send warships accross the Atlantic when America's ridiculous immigration system and porous borders can be used to get any men and military assets into America that Iran wants at anytime. I do recall a report a few years back suggesting Hezbollah was operating subs off the coasts of Central America. Iran is a big supporter of Hezbollah so I wouldn't blythely assume the Iranian Navy can't cross the Atlantic. Of course being Aussie and Canadian your loved ones aren't threatened by any of this and I'm pretty sure your countries aren't plagued by the utter incompetence that the US is with it's current group of military leaders and pretty much the entire (un)intelligence community.

Aussies not in danger in a gulf conflict?, we are first in, check your history.
You are not in danger, you stated they have vessels on a pare with USN vessels which they do not. There airforce is rubbish, pilots even worse. Economic pain yes, military pain.. Limited.

And ciws and decoys and Intel has also, by your reasoning operation mantis proves just how rubbish they are.

I saw Aussies during Gulf War 2. They were in the rear with the gear in Kuwait. I could be wrong, but that is what I saw.

Sas and pilots were there, so yeah you're wrong. In Afghanistan they have also punched well above their weight and saved some bacon more than once.
