A Look At Russia's Robot Tank Army

 

Daily Mail: Vladimir Putin’s fearsome special unit of TANK ROBOTS will go into action 'soon' in the Russian Army amid fears of war in Ukraine 

 * Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu attended a firepower demonstration 

 * He witnessed Russia's unmanned Uran-9 robot tanks operating remotely 

* Russia is preparing to deploy its first unit of five Uran-9 in the near future 

The first special unit of tank robots is to be established 'soon' in the Russian army amid new strains of a war with neighbour Ukraine.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected his unmanned firepower this week at the 766th Production and Technological Enterprise in Nakhabino near Moscow. 

'The first unit with strike robots will be set up in the Russian Armed Forces to operate five Uran-9 robotic systems or 20 combat vehicles,' announced the defence ministry.

WNU Editor: These tanks are still not ready for "prime time". But this blog has been covering Russia's progress in developing robot tanks for a long time, and I must admit they have made a lot of progress in making these weapon platforms more effective and definitely very deadly.

Clickbait weapons tech for now and the foreseeable future, in my opinion. But such things sometimes become effective weapons as/if they continue to evolve.
