I'm sure that's more of a figure of speech than an actual fact, I'm guessing they are somewhere close by. Though I'm not sure if a sub can do anything against torpedo's unless it neutralizes the threat before he gets off a shot. <br /><br />My source who was on carriers in the 70's and 80's said the threat torpedo's posed to a carrier were by far the most serious (and scary).
