Iron Dome Racks Up 90% Success Rate So Far -- Haaretz
Changes to civilian aviation as Hamas takes aim at airport; Iron Dome doing better than it did in 2012.
The Iron Dome missile defense system has achieved a nearly 90 percent success rate since Monday night, an improvement over its performance during Operation Pillar of Defense in November 2012.
The defense system is activated only when the rockets fired by Palestinian militants at Israel appear likely to hit populated areas.
It has been activated to intercept about 27 percent of the approximately 180 rockets fired between Monday night and midday Wednesday. Of the times when Iron Dome was activated, it successfully intercepted the rockets nearly 90 percent of the time, and there have been few rocket hits or serious injuries.

Remember all the liberals screaming about what a pipe-dream missile defense was? How it was impossible?

Out of idle curiosity, why aren't we locking up liberals for all of the deaths and mayhem their horribly wrong ideas have been and are? They're more dangerous than any plague in history.

I remember the 1980s when people like US Senator Ted Kennedy .... plus a whole slew of scientists .... were ridiculing the idea of missile defense as Star Wars that would not work.
ReplyDeleteI was living in the Soviet Union at the time .... but even we knew that this was not a pipe dream but a possibility that with the proper technology would work .... well .... we are there now.
