Popular Mechanics: When a Military Hero Dies in North Korea, His Funeral Hearse Is an APC
North Korea's oddly compelling send off to an longtime Army officer.
Marshal Ri Ul-sol, a long-serving military official in the North Korean People's Army, died earlier this month. His lavish, flower-adorned state funeral was attended by hundreds of politicians and military officials.
Marshal Ri got quite a sendoff. His casket, slow-walked by pallbearers in a procession led by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was rolled to a waiting armored personnel carrier. The procession was accompanied by an honor guard carrying chrome-plated Type 58 assault rifles.
WNU Editor: Even supreme leader Kim Jong Un was present at the funeral .... but he looked .... I cannot place my finger on it .... but at certain moments he looked dazed and "lost".
Can't wait to go back to my palace and play my xbox kind of look.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like public attendance to procession was optional.
