  1. Something doesn't seem quite right here. Obviously Barack Obama thought the evidence presented sufficient to take the drastic steps of expelling 35 Russian diplomats and proposing additional sanctions on Russia. These are VERY drastic steps that would only serve to exacerbate already tense relations with a very important country who can hurt us very badly and whose assistance would be most helpful in a number of areas.

Since it would be most unwise to take such drastic steps without VERY solid proof and POTUS would certainly want such proof before going forward with such an action. Presumably the proof would have been demanded by POTUS and the CIA, FBI, and others would have presented such proof. Why couldn't POTUS-Elect have received the exact same briefing today tgat POTUS received in making his decision?

The fact DJT could not be given the same briefing today tgat BHO recrived tells me one or more of several things and none of them are good. 1.) BHO, HRC, and their teams are impulsive and don't think things through before acting. They lost and needed a scapegoat. From here US "Intelligence", the FBI etc simply did what the boss wanted and now faced with actually needing to build a case, they actually need time to do ir. 2.) The data was "cooked" all along. More time is needed to "cook" the data in order to try and convince a pragmatic, thoughtful person with a business background. 3.) Since the initial decision to blame Russia was made, additiinal evidebce has come to light suggesting the Russians aren't to blame and we need to go back to the drawing board. Hence we need until Friday to properly evaluate the evidence. Essentially, if this is the case, US "Intelligence" acted rashly in presenting the initial findings to POTUS before they had sufficient time to oropetly analyze the evidence.

    1. DJT's skipped his briefings.

On Friday, he get's the same one Obama got.

  2. As I understand it, he thought he was being briefed today. Either wsy it's bad optics on the part of US "Intelligence" notvto insist on tge briefing NOW!!

DJT has been accused of skipping briefings. Now when he wants one, they put it off until Friday.

While I understand his logic in not wanting the same exact briefing every day and "Intelligence" could certainly request a briefing when new information comes to light, I don't think that's the real reason.

US "Intelligence" primarily consists of incompetent boobs, political hacks, and ideologues most of whom including those who would do the briefing will need to be purged. If I know this, I'm pretty DJT does as well. Any value such people could provide would most likely have limited use any way and may even have negative utility.

    1. "He thought", LMAO.

That will be the standard excuse for the Trump Presidency.

Btw nice dump on Mike Spann's grave by the way, but you should have read this first:

      https://www.amazon.ca/How-Shit-Woods-3rd-Environmentally/dp/1580083633

Below the Senior Pay grades, the US Intelligence community consists of:
      - overworked, underpaid Partiots looking for information to help the US,
      - paramilitary groups fighting America's dirty wars in places you don't want to go,
      - Corporate Contractors , ( Bush II) doing it for the money and the insider trading advantages.

The Senior Levels are where it starts to go sideways, because they are bipartizan Appointee's,( half Democrat, half Republican) trying to build little Kingdoms and following the agenda's of their Political Masters.

  3. He will learn, if he hasn't already, that there are many in the US government cannot be trusted. In the business world, if soneone tells you sonethong, generally what they say can be trusted. Hence we "think" they are going to do what they say. When dealing with untrustworthy people, such is unwarranted.

In any event, excuses for failure for DJT will not be tolerated should he fail. The media and the Democrats despise him, his support among Republicans is tepid at best, and the American people, at least those not insulated from the bad fruits of the policies of the previous Administration, recognized that to continue the same policies would mean tbe end of America and their families. Hence major change was needed and the American people gambled. Americans are generally very envious of Canadians hoping somehow, some way, someday, they xan measure up.

Thanks for the Amazon link. Unfortunately this looks like a puff piece designed yo prop up a bunch of incomptent boobs. Being to stupud to know one is stupid is hardly patriotism.

I had known since prior to 9-11 that US "Intelligence" is incapable. After 9-11 and again after Iraq I had suggested completely dismantling it and turning to allies such as the UK, France, Germany, and Israel to help us construct capable Intelligence services.

As for Mike Spann, as I recall he was killed in the line of duty, perhaps if my advice had been followed he and others like him would still be alive. As such, it hardly seems that I am dumping on his grave.

Btw, Americans are expecting a fresh look at all overseas and foreign operations with the idea of ending most of them. If DJT fails and assuming Anerica sonehow survives yet another failed presidency the next cycle will see at least 10 candidates all espousing similar stated suggestikns as DJT such as renegotiate one-sided trade agreements, renegotiate NATO, and enhanced border security. The difference being the candidates will push more forcefully and the American people will be more demanding.

    1. The reason why you make me laugh so much,

Can be encapsulated in the Inclirk Thread,

You posit an "opinion", donno where you got it, Ann Rand, Alex Jones, Sorcha Faal, maybe you came up with it on your own,

      Then you post it.

You don't do even basic research to see if "your opinion", complies with known facts or reality.

It's sad really, because sometimes I agree with your positions, but where I got there through facts, history and reality, you got there through some kind of alt history/opinion/counterfactual.

That's why I LMAO so much at so many of your posts. You are either repeating "Snake Oil", or are creating it on your own.

  5. In the case of the Incirlik thread, if Turkey is going to deny the US the use of the airbase perhaps the US needs to withdraw from NATO, tell Turkey to withdraw, or give NATO an ultimatum to choose it or Turkey. As to who NATO would actually "choose" is admittedly an opinion and as to whether or not NATO is good for the US is debatable. I think it is counterproductive for the US and am pretty sure I've supported my reasoning elsewhere on this site and elsewhere

I try to do thorough research by reading and cross reading multiple sources but must admit I'm not sure who Alex Jones, Ann Rand, or Sorcha Faal are. I think we all bring biases to how we evaluate things. I try my best to filter out such biases from trying to study multipke sources. I do very much appreciate the debate and the back and forth exchanges.

    1. Like I pointed out,

      A Nation can "quit", NATO,

      They can't be "kicked out"

Bad Boys, Bad Boys,.... For life.

  6. I'm pretty sure I don't always succeed in filtering out my biases but do try. This is part of the reason we read the artucles, read the comnents, post replies, and debate the issues. As stated, the dialogue is much appreciated.

  7. I will read up on the NATO charter. Since this is an "alliance" it makes sense that there would be no provision tp "kick soneone out." After all no one could have conceived of wanting to "kick soneone out" or soneone wanting to "quit." Since an alliance isn't going to hold soneone against it's will. As such, a provision allowing someone to "quit" would seem reasonable.

In any event, my mistake on a lack of inserstabding and the proper wording. I made a mistake. I'm human. I recall former famous blogger Andrew Sullivan pointing out that he made a few. Since he was far more skilled tban me at this sort of thing and he made mistakes, it comes as no surprise that I do from time to time.

Actually, when typing the Incirlik post, I vaguely remembered learning somewhere that NATO members could not be tbrown out but never followed up on it. Perhaps I should have typed "the US should make it clear to other NATO members that if Turkey remains it will leave," While I do need to look up the exact % America contributes to NATO, it is substantial. If tbreatened with tbe loss of this, NATO members might apply pressure on Turkey to withdraw. While a technical withdrawal, Turkey will have, in substance, kicked out.

Once again, thank you for pointing out my error. I will need to study the NATO agreement more closely.
