We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 27, 2017
Axios: The media's Russia probe meltdown: 3 screw-ups in one week
The media is having a rough week when it comes to reporting on the federal government's multiple ongoing Russia investigations. Three stories in the past seven days have crumbled under greater scrutiny.
Why it matters: In today's hyperpolarized world, "fake news" has become a refrain to describe stories that observers on both sides of the spectrum decide that they don't like. These reporting issues by esteemed media organizations give credence to that ignorance, which further damages the value of insightful, impactful reporting — especially when it comes to one of the biggest, most polarizing stories of our political age: the Russia probe.

WNU Editor: The CNN report yesterday was truly a stupid one .... CNN error extends run of journalistic mishaps (Politico). I can identify why the main stream media is screwing-up. Many in the media are writing stories that they sincerely want to believe and pray is true .... even when facts say otherwise. And while in the past these mistakes would have been covered up and/or ignored, in today's 24/7 web universe .... they are not. Hence the exposes of wrong reporting, and the subsequent apologies. And for someone like President Trump .... just more ammunition to call the main stream media "fake news".
CNN has been a joke since 1991.

It all started so well in 1982, and then went to pieces.

ReplyDelete-A MUST READ.
CBS actually confirmed cnn's report, before it was proven to be false...these news organizations and fact checkers are really doing their homework aren't they? This makes me wonder what else they've 'confirmed' that has also been false.

Everything is fake...I will still take news from CNN and the NY Times and Guardian and WSj over Fox etc. they may err but when they do and the mistake caught they do correct...To dismiss them because of a mistake here and there suggests that NO news sources are to be believed and that all the info you think you have is material you READ or SAW somewhere. You did not get that stuff out of the ether. Thus my bias view: to dismiss so readily when an outfit that is professional makes a mistake is simply because you do not want to accept what may be true about so much they deal with that is NOT wrong. Who then is FAKE?
ReplyDeleteIts okay fred u dont have to make exuses for your loser buddys we can all see the truth lol its slowly unraveling. And the right keeps lookin better and better lol
DeleteThe news media makes mistakes all the time. This blog covers wars and conflicts .... and over the years I have lost count on how many stories were bogus, under-reported, or over-reported. But the Russia-Gate story has certainly taken the cake when it comes to covering political stories and making errors and gross mistakes. And speaking from personal experience .... almost a full time job to track and verify what is true and what makes sense .... and what does not. I will still post these stories .... but vigilance and skepticism will always be required.
